I just got back from my surgeon. He did buy me some time, so I am so relieved, since his nurse had me panic-stricken. He said it's not too urgent, can wait 6 months; he's on the fence, he said he's in the middle - have it done now, or wait, he just doesn't know. Says he thinks the polyps may just be cholestrol (?) buildup (stones), that gallbladder cancer has a slow growth rate, and if they are polyps they would take a long time to turn into cancer. He said the polyps, if that's what they are, have nothing to do with weight loss surgery, and would have grown w/out the surgery; the stones, defintely a sign of the rapid weight loss, totally expected (and I knew that before I had surgery). He does know that it will eventually need to come out, and don't wait too long, but defintely said I can wait a few months. He doesn't want to see my ducts become blocked. But it's not something I have to move on right now. He said if I wait 6 months, he'd want to see me have another ultrasound before hand, just so he can see where I'm at. But I agreed to go for another ultrasound in September/October, and then maybe have surgery late October/early November. I'm scared to wait too long. But am not eager to get in there right away! I know I should just have it out now and get it over with, because all I'm going to do is think/worry about it until then, but ofcourse I'm going to put it off. I'm a chicken and no matter how easy they tell me it is, it's still me having to go back to the hospital; I still can't believe I did it the first time, but it doesn't make having to go back, for anything, any easier! The 'polyps' is the one word besides surgery, that has had me scared all this time - so I guess I'm relieved to know they grow slow. So that's where I am. Maybe by then they will be able to give me new boobs! Wouldn't that be nice to go in and get it all done at once - Extreme Makeover!!! I asked him to take my appendix out while he's in there, but he said he can't!!!

Aime I will keep you posted. I have lost 90% of my weight because I only had 100 to loose to begin with (I barely qualified for the surgery). I am actually wearing a size 6. I can't wait til 18 months out because if I do then there is no possibility for my insurance to pay I have to have it done by December 31 of the year following my surgery if I have any hope of getting it approved so I am actually on a deadline. I figure right now the most my insurance can say is "NO", but I hope they don't.

I am feeling great for my age and glad I had this surgery done. If I hadn't I don't know what kind of shape I was going to end up in as I got older. I was feeling twice my age with all those aches and pains of being on my feet. Now I just want to walk walk walk! I am enjoying myself and life so much more now. They say that 40 is the new 30...lol, I am feeling in my 20's. Lisa S.

Thanks Tara!!! Everything does seem to be getting better in my life. The first 6 months after my WLS was brutal with all the problems my oldest son was putting on me but now that he is in jail and I don't have a court date everytime I turn around, my life is going smoother. Yesterday on my new job I had a few funny things happen...I ran into some old friends from high school. Some of which I hadn't seen me in years...mostly since I had packed on all that weight. They all told me how good I looked!!! Of course I didn't mention to them that I had the WLS because I didn't really have time to chat with them. It just blows my mind that everyone knows me now since I look almost as I did in high school. Everyone seems more friendly for some reason. I have to almost laugh because most of the girls that I graduated with all have big butts now...they have had their children and some are now becoming grandparents and i****ting the "middle age spread" thing. I just hope I can keep this little more youthful body until our 25th class reunion which is in 3 more years. We will see who looks the best then for their age...hehehehehe Thanks again.... Lisa S

Thanks you Dawn. I made it through my first day as CSM...I have soooo much to learn up there. The service desk is the worse out of the whole job. I have been taking notes with my little book of paper...I just hope if I need to go back and refer to it that I can read it....lol Lisa S
