HEY LISA, AS USUAL I'M THE LATE POSTER. JUST CAME ON LINE AND THOUGHT I'D LOOK AND SEE IF ANY ONE HAS POSTED. POSTING HAS GONE DOWN DRASTICALLY SINCE WE'VE ALL LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT AND GOTTEN ON WITH OUR LIVES. A LOSS OF 117 POUNDS IS FANTASTIC, AN YOU'RE IN SIZE 8 /10's? HOW GREAT IS THAT? KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. AS FOR FELICIA, SHE DECIDED QUITE AWHILE BACK THAT SHE WASN'T GOING TO BE POSTING HERE ANY MORE, SPENDING LOTS OF TIME W/ HER FAMILY, WHICH IS GREAT FOR HER. ME?, I'VE LOST 153 POUNDS SO FAR AND WANT TO LOSE ANOTHER 10 IF I CAN. I WANT TO GET TO 150#, MY GOAL WEIGHT. DOESN'T LOOK AS IF IT WILL HAPPEN. ESPECIALLY W/ ME NOT DOING ANYTHING TO HELP IT ALONG, NO GYM, NO WALKING (EXCEPT AT WORK) NOT REALLY WATCHING WHAT I'M EATING ANY MORE, etc . . . I'M IN A SIZE 14/16, A BIG DIFFERENCE FROM EVERYONE ELSE, THOSE OF YOU IN 8 - 10 AMAZE ME. BUT I CAN'T REALLY COMPLAIN THAT MUCH SINCE I'M COMMING FROM A 26/28, I'LL TAKE THE 14/16. I'M NOT MOTIVATED AT ALL SOME DAYS. EVERYONE I WORK WITH TELLS ME I HAVE TO STOP LOSING, BUT LIKE YOU I HAVEN'T LOST ANY WEIGHT IN AWHILE, PROBABLY INCHES THOUGH. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED I LOOK THIN FROM THE NECK TO THE WAIST, THEN FROM THERE DOWN? FLABBY STOMACH AND STILL FAT THIGHS AND CALVES. I STILL DON'T HAVE A GREAT SELF ESTEME AS YOU CAN SEE. AS FAR AS PICTURES? NEVER POSTED ANY AND PROBABLY WILL CON'T TO NOT POST AS I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT. GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU AND ALL THE OTHER OCTOBER SISTERS. DONNA, SFY

Hi Lisa! A loss of 117 pounds is amazing! I am so happy for you. I'm still losing, but very slowly. I am about a size 10, or smaller in some sizes. I, too, am worried about regain, especially since my procedure did not have ANY malabsorption element. My BMI is 22 or so, and I thinking I'll even out at 150, which will be a 125 pound loss. (I'm 5'9", so 150 seemed like a dream, pre-op!) I'm so happy for my fellow sleeve sisters. This has been an amazing journey, made easier with the supoort of all of you. Best wishes to each of you.

Thanks for your reply! I forgot all about checking out Felicia's website and I even had it saved in my favorites....lol! It is so good to see that everyone is doing so good! The main thing is that we stay healthy no matter how much weight we are able to lose. A regain scares me to death as well. I know so many people that live in my area that has had this surgery. Very few have manage to keep their weight off or down where they should be. Most of them have done good for 5 to 7 years, after that they started gaining again. Only one person that I know did not lose much and what she did lose she gained back and is just about where she was before the surgery. I really feel for people like that! It must be an inner brain problem to let them over eat again and be able to gain back that much weight. She had her surgery maybe a year or so before we did. I really do believe that if it is meant for any of us to stay small and let this surgery work for us it will happen. Otherwise we must have very poor genes in us and the obesity will win after all!!! I am sooo proud of you losing as much weight as you have. It is wonderful to feel good for a change and not have that extra weight pulling us down anymore. All we can do is remember the basics of what we have to do to keep the weight off and we should be fine. I know I don't want to be "huge" again!!! but if I do gain a little back it will be ok. Sometimes I wish I could fill out a little but then I want to slap myself for thinking that...lol!!! Take care my friend!!! Good to hear from you! Lisa S

Hi Lisa! Good to hear from you! I check into this board about once a week or so.....whenever I think of it. As for Felicia, you can find her on her web page: http://www.djfsmith.com/f/ She does not post here any more. As for me, I am still at the same ol' same ol' that I have been since last August. I have lost a total of 93 pounds since my highest, but only 60 since surgery. I go up and down the same 2 pounds since the end of August, 2007. I went from a size 22-24 to 14-16 pants and medium tops. I am still "obese" according to the BMI chart. I threw a bit of a fit at my surgical team last week and I am now scheduled for an upper GI to see if everything is working as it should be. I do not know whether to hope that they find something, or hope that they don't. The GOOD news is that I feel much better than I did before surgery, and can do a lot more than I have in 25 years. We were in New Orleans over the weekend and we walked and walked, it didn't bother me a bit. I now exercise 4-5 days a week, riding my stationary bike (soon to use the outside bike) in addition to resistance bands, yoga, and other muscle building work-outs. My husband is always telling me how "hot" I am, and I am glad that he thinks so. I am glad I had the surgery as I could not have come this far "on my own". I would really like to get a bit closer to the "normal" range on the BMI charts and am terrified of ANY regain. I spend a lot of time on my home state board being support for others as often as I can. I hope all of my October Sisters are doing well and enjoying life! Dawn

Hi Michelle! I have a similar problem myself....When I eat, I get a lump under my scar from the WLS. Depending on how much I eat is how big it gets. I eat almost anything I want now and of course too much sugar makes me sick but I do have trouble getting sick from time to time after I eat...and the pain is most of the time where the lump is. I really do think it is a hernia. I had my gall bladder taken out probably 10 years ago. After it was removed I would get pain in my sternum where the incision was for the lapo. When I had my scope done before the gastric they said that I had a small hernia but my WLS would fix it. Well, no it did not!!! I have found eating unsalted saltine crackers helps when it starts. I freak out if I don't have any crackers in the house!!! My boys are bad for eatting up my crackers and leaving the empty box sit in the cabinet! I have just tried to deal with it when I have trouble. I know the day will come when I have to have something done about it. Until then I will just eat my cracker Lisa S By the way...You look soooo good!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Thought I would drop in to see how everyone is doing and to give an update on myself. It sure does seem like I am not the only one that isn't visiting much on here. I guess we all have better lives now and really don't keep ourselves stuck to the computer as we once did...lol!!! That is a good thing...it means we are more than likely out enjoying life as we should be . Well, here is the scoop on me...My weight is staying between 150 to 147. That is about 117 lbs off of me. I feel great and people are still commenting on my success with the surgery. My clothes sizes now are 10 and 8 size jeans and medium size shirts. I do have some issues with the loose skin but over all I guess it isn't bad enough to have any type of PS done. I couldn't afford it anyway. I have a special way of looking at the "flab"...it helps me have some curves....lol!!!! My arms are the worse thing of all I think which that is what is exposed the most now that warmer weather is here. I try not to think about it much or let it bother me. I do have people that say that I need to stop losing!? That is funny because I haven't really lost anything mu*****uit awhile now...how do that get that I shouldn't lose anymore or that I should stop??? I do ALOT of walking with my job as a CSM at Walmart. I really do think that I don't lose weight just inches. With alot of weight off of me now I have noticed how bad my varicous veins in my legs look. I decided to buy me a cute little skort (skirt/shorts). It looks like a mini-skirt and fits nicely but it also shows my big bad veins in my left leg above my knee. I really don't know how often I will wear it or why I even bought it? I really like it but I am just so self concious of what my legs look like. I have my grandmothers to thank for that. Both sides of my family had big nasty veins in their legs and I know that carrying my children while working on concrete when I was pregnant with them didn't help matters. What has happened to Felicia??? I was so hoping to be able to see what she looks like now but I couldn't find her on here. Has anyone heard from her??? I have her email address so maybe I can get a hold of her that away. It is so great to see updated pics of you all. Everyone of you looks outstanding!!!! I know I need to update my pics but I haven't had the camera out in a long time. I guess it is way over due....lol. Hope you all stay in good health!! Lisa S
