Hi Lisa, I haven't had any stuffing yet....looking forward to trying a little this Thanksgiving! I have not had waffles -- they are not a favorite of mine...neither are pancakes, but I have had french toast and I can usually eat 1/2 a slice.... When I do have bread -- which I try not to often, because it fills me up so quickly, I try to limit it to one slice...or if we have garlic sticks, I can usually handle 1/2 of one! Holly

Topic: RE: FIVE DAY POUCH TEST - DAY ONE!!!
I am like Molly -- I AM READY FOR THIS!! I have 15 pounds to lose to reach my goal and lately it seems like I am only losing 1 or 2 pounds every couple of weeks! 1. Starting Weight this morning: 150 2. I will post each day my weight, as long as I remember to get weighed each morning... 3. I am feeling great, ready for this challenge. 4. My only protein shake that I drink is EAS 100% Vanilla Protein from Walmart with 8oz of skim milk. Nothing fancy, It tastes good to me and I can drink it well. 5. I haven't exercised yet today, but plan to do my walk video tonight.... 6. I hope to stop snacking and grazing so much during the day. 7. I already had my protein shake for the morning, and I had one for a snack this morning as well. I have one left for lunch and will have one for dinner tonight as well. I have found some flavored non-carbonated water that I really enjoy and I brought three of them with me to work today! 8. Shakes today and tomorrow. I do have tuna, yogurt and cottage cheese for my soft foods. I have my ground beef and chicken for later in the week. My family is being very supportive, so they know they may be on their own for meals for a couple of days!! Holly

I have found it is the quality of the meat that decides wethr I can eat it or not. Grissly or fatty forget it. The texture is important to me now. I will gag if it feels funny. I can do the six dolar burger patty at Carl's Jr. They are charbroiled, hence less fat. They are also a good quality of meat. Tried the Angus patty at McDonald's YUCKY! Full of gristle! Also they charge for the whole burger, where as Carl's Jr charges $2 for the patty, cheese is .20 more. I get it on a plate and eat it with a knife and fork. I like it even better than Red Robins which I have had a lil taste of off one of my kids plates.

These have been GREAT questions Lisa! Of course, now I see I am much more a carboholic than everyone else. I do eat pasta (whole wheat or "protein" varieties usually) and rice (on occasion) etc. As far as these questions... Anyone eaten stuffing? Yes...last Thanksgiving..probably over holidays this year as well. Sweet potatoes? No - not a big fan of them. Winter squash of any sort? ANY squash, like Felicia I LOOOOOVE IT! Usually I slice it and grill it w/ garlic and olive oil. YUM YUM YUM. I have made spaghetti squash on occasion as well (served w/ a meat sauce - like the "real thing") Any waffles or pancakes or French toast? waffles and French toast..no (not yet). I do have a buckwheat pancake mix that I have used once. I made a double batch. The boy ate about 1/2 of the batch. I ate 2 small onces (topped w/ low fat peanut butter and sugar free syrup). The first time they were great. I froze the rest and tried reheating them.....SOOOOO didn't work! So, I can eat them, but they have to be fresh off teh griddle...and only one or two tiny ones (size of a coaster or smaller) How much bread can you/do you eat in one sitting? one small roll (harder "crusty" rolls seem better..multi grain rolls sit the best).

Topic: RE: booze
Anyone boozing yet? We are not really drinkers so I would have to say now. I cook with wine a lot does that count? LOLOL How's that working for you? So far anything with out bubbles I would probably be fine with. Had a sip of a beer a couple months ago was UGLY the bubbles tried to kill me... What do you drink? Every Christmas I get a bottle of Baily's ( small one ) its my treat. Last year I couldn't have it but I am SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to it this year. *huggles* Felicia =0)

Topic: RE: time between food and drink?
Are you still waiting half an hour between eating and drinking? I do pretty well on this. Its become just habit now. Not always perfect but life isn't perfect... I do at least 15 mins before and 30 mins after. I just don't even get a drink when I am eating other wise I do tend to sip and then it sends me straight to the bath room to *huggles* Felicia =0)

Topic: RE: rice and pasta
Are you eating rice and/or pasta? I can I just don't do it often. I have had pasta several times in the last couple months. About a 1/2 cup or so is about all I can eat of it. I just had rice on last Wednesday. WAS YUMO! Went down fine and didn't fill me up at all. Was probably 1/2 cup or less not sure as it was a side with my fish. *huggles* Felicia =0)

Topic: RE: "ethnic" restaurants...what do you eat?
What do you eat at various ethnic restaurants? Well I have just started back to "eating out" so haven't hit to many but here is what I have done so far... Chinese? Not yet but Mongolian Grill is on my list for October. But I have made a lot of Chinese and Thai foods at home does that count? Italian? I have had pasta but not out at a restaurant. Italian is my least favorite food. Indian? Never tired it. Don't think there is even a place here to eat it. Mexican? Taco Johns LOL Hard Shell Tacos YUMO! Do you eat pizza? Not often. Maybe once every couple of months. How much? As long as I pick the pepperoni and sausage off I can eat a whole piece probably 2 ish inches wide at the crust edge... What toppings? Everything but pepperoni and sausage... they don't like me... *huggles* Felicia =0)

Anyone eaten stuffing? Yes last Turkey Day - plan on having it again this next Turkey Day too... Sweet potatoes? Yes last Turkey Day - plan on having it again this next Turkey Day too... Winter squash of any sort? If yes, how do you prepare these? I eat Yellow Squash and Zucchini all the time. LOVE IT. I make it with onions and butter and saute it in a pan on the stove till soft. YUMO! I love any type of squash ( summer or winter ) but since I am the only one that eats it I don't buy it often. Any waffles or pancakes or French toast? Once in a while the guys have pancakes and I take a bite but they are not one of my favorite foods so I don't think I would/will ever order them for myself... How much bread can you/do you eat in one sitting? I can heat a whole hot dog bun or a whole hamburger bun. But I can only eat like half a sandwich with whole grain bread or half a hogie roll. Depends on the density I guess. *huggles* Felicia =0)

Ooooooo Lisa! I am so with you. It MUST be a Philly thing. I know exactly ...EXACTLY what you are talking about. It's the curse of this time of year, along with apple cider and cider donuts. You can resist. Maybe try sprinkling some pumpkin pie spice in your tea? I loooove spiced wafers... For those not from "around" here - the closest thing to compare would be "ginger snaps".
