Also my 6 bottles of water too! These are things I normally eat! So I am going back to pretty much my normal diet. But without the unnecessary carbs! I do miss my fruit though! I love watermelon and have 2 sitting in the laundry room just waiting for me! Tomorrow I will be having 6am Hot tea 7am Protein drink 9am water 10:30 egg salad 12pm water 1pm cottage cheese 2:30 water 4pm water 5:30 chicken salad 6:30 water 8pm jello Here we go!

Day 3: Soft Protein Protein Recommendations: canned fish (tuna or salmon) mixed with lemon and seasoned with salt and pepper, eggs cooked as desired seasoned with salt pepper and/or salsa, fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, orange roughy), baked or grilled, and lightly seasoned. This starts your program with "soft" protein. Measure your portion (1 cup volume or 4-6 ounces weight) and eat only until you feel full, not overfull. Remember, no water for 30 minutes before or after you meal, and no fluids with your meal. We are going back to the beginning and fluids will prevent you from feeling the pouch. If you need to add a bit of Miracle Whip or mayonnaise to the canned fish I understand, but keep it to a minimum so the meat is not too moist. One reason we lose the sense of tightness in our pouch is that we eat "slider foods" - foods that are too moist and do not stay in the pouch very long, they slide right through the stoma. What was your beginning weight? What was your weight this morning? What are you eating today? How are you feeling? Are you craving carbs? Are you remembering to stop drinking 30 minutes before your meals and wait until 30 minutes after you meals to begin drinking again? Hope you have a great HUMP DAY!!! We're 1/2 way there. Hugs, Tabby

I'm not concerned about flipping on a diet switch. I am in diet mode all the time anyways. I looked up the definition of "diet" online tonight and this is what it says... such a selection or a limitation on the amount a person eats for reducing weight...to select or limit the food one eats to improve one's physical condition or to lose weight. By these definitions, I have been "dieting" since October 9th of last year. I have reduced my daily intake of food to lose weight. I have been selective and limited what I eat to lose weight and to treat my obesity. I am constantly thinking about what I am putting in my mouth and YES, at times, I do feel bad about what I eat. The difference now is that I don't sabotage myself like I used to. If I eat a handful of crackers, I don't say "Screw it, I'll start a diet on Monday, so I might as well eat all my favorite foods before then." I plan ahead now when I go somewhere. If it is a potluck, most likely, I will make something that is higher in protein and is something I can eat, rather than the high carb/high calorie foods I used to take to potlucks. I consider that dieting. I know it is a lifestyle change, but it is also a diet. Until I get to my goal weight and am still losing, I am still dieting. That is my opinion. The Five Day Pouch Test was just something that appealed to me and I thought that having a few friends, who may be in the same situation as me (wanting to get the scale moving again after a stall or wanting to get closer to their goal before their surgiversary) might want to join in and we could support each other. It is a TEST...or a DIET...call it what you want, but it is just five days. I don't feel like I am cheating or have fallen off of it if I eat something that is not on the plan. I will get out of this what I put into it. My plan is to flush the carbs out of my system so I don't crave them every day...all day...I hope that by doing this that I can do that. I also hope to lose some weight. Because of the carbs, my scale has been going up and down with the same 4-5 pounds. It was ******g me off, so I decided to try this. I don't know what will happen after the 5th day. I hope that I will start eating my proteins first again and that I will make better choices about snacks, rather than grab something because I am hungry and it is there. I need to get back into keeping better foods handy for me. I understand that the Five Day Pouch Test isn't for everyone. For those that feel like joining in, I hope it was worth it. Hugs, Tabby

Topic: RE: FIVE DAY POUCH TEST - DAY TWO
My day two went well. I lost 3 pounds in the first day. I have been feeling well, other than a little dizzy here and there when I get up too fast. I did walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes today. Worked up a good sweat and felt good about myself afterwards. Aside from the protein shakes and water, today I did eat a stick of beef jerky, a tablespoon on peanut butter, 6 peanuts, a cup of SF Jello and I took a bite of my daughters grilled cheese sandwich. How is that for honesty. All of them combined don't add up to the calories/carbs I burned on the treadmill. SO THERE!!! LOL!!! Hope everyone else is feeling good. I'm really looking forward to having food tomorrow. Being able to sit down and eat with my family, rather than walk around while they eat and drink my dinner. I like our family dinner time. Good luck tomorrow. Hugs, Tabby

WOW, DAWN!!! Sounds like you had a good first day. Do you always drink that much water? I know once when I was doing LA Weightloss and wasn't losing, they said it could be from drinking TOO much water. Your body can only process so much, then it starts to retain it. 156oz of water plus all the other fluids are an aweful lot for your body to process in a day. I'm not a nutritionist, just giving my 2 cents, for what it's worth. Hopefully you see a loss in the next day or two. Good luck, Tabby

Hi, Kesha. I don't know when "I" will be doing this test again, but I know Tiff is going to do it next week. You can jump in when you want or wait until next week and do it with Tiff. I lost 3 pounds the first day. I'm pleased with the results so far. Good luck when you decide to do it. Hugs, Tabby

Sounds like you had a great game plan for today, Holly. Hope you did well. Tomorrow we get to EAT FOOD!!! LOL. The two days weren't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm looking forward to Saturday to see how much weight I'm going to lose by doing this. I know this is just what I needed to get back on the protein track. Can't wait to see how everyones Hump day goes!!! Hugs, Tabby
