Gay, that's so exciting! And still hard to fathom, isn't it? I'm 12 lbs from that point. Congrats!

It is nice to read your update.
Sounds like you are holding your own on the weight loss side of things. That is good.
Take care, January will be here in no time.

Congratulations on losing half of your body weight. That is amazing!
I still have about 3 pounds to go to reach that goal.
I think we are all more active and doing things out and about. That takes us away from the computer but it is nice to check in once in a while.
Take care and keep up the good work,
Tara
Topic: I am still here!!!
I just thought I would stop by to see how everyone is doing. I have not fell off the face of the earth yet...hehehe! With my new job at Wal-Mart I work some crazy hours now and don't get on the computer like I used to. I thought I would stop by and give you all an update on me.
I have lost 106 lbs now...down to 158, give or take a few. You know how the scales will go up and down on us. I have been pretty much at a stand still this month but still feeling great! I get alot of walking in now with my job as Customer Service Mgr. I guess I probably need to update some of my pictures which will come in time.
My son is still behind bars of course. He is doing good for the most part. I told him he could call me once or twice a week and he sometimes calls two or three times a day...lol. I am getting ready to go visit with him this morning before I have to go to work. I try to go every Sat. if I can but if his dad goes on a Wed. then I have to wait for the Sat. after next to make an appt. He got papers from the court and his release date is Jan. 11th. I can't wait for that day to get here!!! I am going to take that week off for vacation so we can spend some time together.
Well, that is it in a nutshell really, nothing much going on. I just thought I would let you all know that I am still around and I think about you all alot. And by the way...you all are looking great!!! We sure have came a long way in about a year! I am so proud of all of us!
Take care and God Bless each and everyone of you!

How has everyone been doing? I have been so busy with work, home and outdoor work that I only have time to lurk anymore it seems. So forgive me for just posting now but I was so excited this morning. I got on the scale and it has been moving so slowly lately but things are shifting and the inches are going. But this morning when I got on I finally hit the point where I have lost half of my body weight. I started out this journey on Oct. 12th at 339 pounds. This morning I weighed in at 169 pounds and that is a loss of 170 pounds. That is half of my original weight. I have never really set goals but always thought how cool it would be to be able to say I am half the person I used to be. Now I can say it. I am hoping to lose another10-20 pounds but at this point I am content with what I have achieved. I feel comfortable with what I weigh and know it will get better after the plastic surgery. I have so much excess skin and would love to get so much done, but will be satisfied with the belly and I would really love to get the arms done. The legs and rest can hide behind clothes but the arms really can't. Something to aim for I guess. Well, just had to share with all of you. Lots of love.......Gay
Topic: RE: Anyone Looking Into Skin Removal Yet?
Yes, I just spoke to a plastic surgeon on Wednesday. Believe it or not it was alot cheaper than I thought. My surgery was Oct 9, 06 so I am just under a year out, but I had to start looking now because if I have any hope at all for my insurance to pay then it has to be done before Dec 31 of this year. I started out with barely 100lbs to loose and all my weight was in my belly so I am only looking at a tummy tuck. Right now I am waiting to hear if insurance will cover or not. My plastic surgeon says he prefers to wait until the 18 month mark but since I have already lost all my weight then he isn't to concerned. Good luck if you want to find a plastic surgeon I recommend you talk to the doctor who preformed your WLS because they can recommend a good one to you.

I am hoping and praying that I will be referred to a plastic surgeon by my WLS surgeon. In Canada, the governmental insurance will pay for the panni removal but not a tummy tuck.
The will also pay for a breat reduction.
I have lost over 140 pounds so things aren't that pretty under my clothes. I have gone from a size 26/28 to a 8/10. I will be sad if I don't qualify for any removals or reductions but I won't be devastated. I am so happy with how I look in public. It is not like everyones gets to see the "naked" me, lol
Have a great day and I hope that you are able to get what u are looking for.

Topic: Anyone Looking Into Skin Removal Yet?
I will be a year out on October 19 and have lost right at 150 lbs. I saw my doctor last week and she said that I have "a bunch" of excess skin and fatty tissue. In a perfect world I would like to have a tummy tuck and my mid section (what ever that entire procedure is called) and my arms lifted. I could stand to have the leg skin removed and my breasts lifted, but they are not so important. I am beginning to think that I have lost everything that I am going to lose and all the excess weight is just skin. Is anybody else running into this concern? My doctor said we would look into the skin removal surgery in 6 more months. I feel so small, but still am in a size 22/24 because of all the "belly skin". All the pants that fit me are way to long and baggy in the legs if they fit me around the middle. I think my insurance will cover the tummy skin removal because of the rashes and such that I have been having, but I am not sure if there is even a possibilty of them covering the arm lift. Any suggestions or hints? And what is the most skin (weight wise) that you guys have heard of being removed? I feel so good but just feel that I still look really bad because of the skin flapping everywhere. Thanks for all the input and everyone looks just GREAT!!!
