Topic: RE: What sizes are you now???
I started this one year ago in a tight 20 (denial) and 2X shirts
Today I am wearing 6's & 8's. A medium always fits and a small shirt sometimes fits.
What a ride this has been!
Topic: RE: Living in VA finally!!
Welcome to VA finally Susan
So glad you finally made it here. Yes, it is a nice place to be I think...but of course I have been here my whole life.
WOW!!! You are down to 135? That is outstanding!!!! Good for you girl! I don't think it would be good for me to go that low. I look fine now at 158. I already have people making comments that I either have lost too much or they think I should stay where I am. They do not understand the fact that if my body wants to lose more it will. I am pretty much losing in inches at this point because the scales are not moving but the pants sizes are dropping. I think the walking I do at my job helps me.
Well, you take care and welcome to my state!!! Hope everything goes well for you!

Yes, I am singing Happy Re-birhtday to myself....lol!!!!!
...Yes I am crazy but I like me anyway Thanks so much for all of your replies on the sizes we are now. I noticed a strange thing....some of us weighed more than others and alot of you lost more than me but we have all pretty much at this point landed at about the same size! I hope that maybe I don't lose anymore because I think I am where I should be. It would be nice to lose about another 8 lbs but I am happy where I am now.
I was talking with my husband lost night and he finally remembered that today was my year anniversary. We talked about how rough it was in the beginning with the foods I had to eat for the first 8 weeks and the infection that I got while in the hospital...not to mention how sick I was for the first serveral hours after waking up after surgery. I told him that to me it was all worth it and I WOULD do it again if I had to!
Since I had this surgery I have changed the way I fix dinner at nights when I am not working late. My husband has managed to drop about 25 lbs this year. I think as long as I continue to cook the way I do he will continue to lose. One very important food that we have cut out is ice cream! Every night since we have been together I would buy a gallon of ice cream and we would pretty much eat it in a weeks time sometimes a gallon and a half. We had switched over to fat free/sugar free ice cream and then he discovered the goodness of frozen fruit bars. I myself have found a new product at our store...it is Soy Dream ice cream sandwiches. They are about half the size of regular ice sandwiches and really taste good!!! I was shocked when I bought them and tried them. My husband even liked them and he has always turned his nose up at anything that has soy in it!
Is anyone having more trouble with constipation??? I found it to be more of a problem here lately and bought a really good overnight relief pill called Perdiem. It has a natural vegetable ingredient...so the label on the front says but the ingredients on the back list everything but a vegetable....lol. After I go a few days of no luck in the bathroom I take two pills before bed. I get up the next morning and after going to the bathroom a few times I feel good as new and I have alot of energy! It doesn't cramp my stomach any all though I know everyone is different. I gave 2 pills to my dad and he got cramps and only went to the bathroom one time he said. Maybe since our systems have been altered we have different results?
Well, there is a few products that I have found and tried and liked. I thought I would share them with you all.
HAPPY RE-BIRTHDAY TO ALL OF US IN OCTOBER!!!! We have came a long way in this year and the results for all of us is mind blowing! I think we have done a wonderful job and we look fabulous!!!! Keep up the good work October babies!!!!

It is amazing the difference a year makes!
I went from a 26/28 pants 4x/5x shirts (they girls had their own zip code)
to a 9/10 panst and a medium top!! And the girls are no longer arriving before I do.

Topic: So, here's what I did...
Ok, so I did let my contact at the American Diabetes Association know that I would be willing to share my story if it would help the cause. I heard back from their media person today and we just spoke a few minutes ago. She loved everything I had to say and how I said it, and she wants to see if she can put the media in touch with
me...yikes! So...I told her if it will help, go ahead.
She interviewed me a bit and once she started asking the right questions, speaking came easily She thought I gave a great interview. I told her I fear I'll just sputter and choke if someone puts a microphone in front of me ...but still...I told her ok, let's do it. I really do have some very strong feelings and I hope, if called, I can do a good job at this!
I was telling her about a new woman at work who is a recently diagnosed diabetic with what sounds like an infected toe, from a pedicure cut. She's laughing and
saying, sure, she'll mention it to the doctor when she sees him again. I had to
actually print out diabetic foot pictures today and shove them under her nose to
scare her into dealing with it now! That the doctor who diagnosed her didn't get her right into an educational program infuriates me!
Anyhow...thanks for the encouragement...I think...and I'll keep ya posted!
