Dear friends, A couple of months ago, my grandmother, Dorthy Gricks, was diagnosed with bone marrow disease. They immediately started her on chemotherapy (through pills) which depleted her immune system. She then came down with pnemonia and ended up in the hospital for three weeks, which caused bedsores. They tried to take her home for a few days, but she fell and ended up back in the hospital for another week. She was then transferred to Transistional Care where it was discovered that she also had the MRSA Staph Infection that seems to be making the news a lot these days. She is back in the hospital and yesterday, her doctors informed our family yesterday that they are estimating that she will only live for approximatedly 48 hours....we have family traveling from Harrisburg and Cincinnatti to be here. Grandma was aware of her surroundings yesterday, she knew when we are there and when we would leave...she would wave....she nodded her head when we told her that we loved her....she opened her eyes and looked directly at you....she was unable to speak because her throat was so sore from the oygen that they are giving her, so it was frustrating to her and to us when she tried to tell us something. Yesterday morning, she wrote a note to mom and said she wanted to go home now, she was ready to die and God wants her in heaven. So, I truly believe she knows her time with us is limited but that she is ready to go. My mom just called me a minute ago and said Grandma is not longer trying to talk....no longer recognizes anyone...So, please pray for peace for our family....I know we don't want her to go, but she's ready.... Holly

I pray fro you and your family. It is so hard to lose someone so beloved. It sounds like she is at peace and that must be comforting. Big hugs sweetie!
