HI ALL
Just poppin in to say hello. Haven't been on board for awhile. What with all the legal issues re: probating mom's will, getting home and cleaning after being away on our alaskan cruise and going back to work. It's been a little crazy.
Can you all beleive it's been a year already since we've all had our surgery or will soon be? My how a year has flown. Some days it seems like only yesterday that we were drinking liquids, then transition to pureed, then soft then, ta-da!!!! Real food. Is it me, or do all of you look back and think, " it wasn't really all that bad now that I think about it." but at the time it seemed like forever before we could eat "real food." now it's amazing that not eating certain things, starchs mainly doesn't really bother me. Every once in awhile I'll have a mouthful or two but that's eat.
Don't you wonder why we had to make such a drastic physical change to our bodies before we made a conscious effort to change to our eating habits? Don't think I really care. I'm just glad I made this choice.
Donna, sfy
P.S. IF SOMEONE CAN WALK ME THROUGH CONNECTING MY CAMERA TO THE COMPUTER AND DOWNLOADING PICTURES I'LL POST SOME OF THEM.
Hey Susan,
Great to hear from you. Have you totallly settled into the new house yet or are there still boxes all over the place. I know when we first moved here we were finding boxes for weeks after moving in.
Alaska was absolutely beautiful, it's a whole different world from the south. We're already talking about going back for another cruise in 2009 but to different ports this time.
I get so frustrated reading other peoples posts w/ the amount of weight they're lossing. I've been stuck at the same weight for about 2 months now. Don't know what I'm doing wrong, makes me crazy.
Well, hope you've had a great weekend.
Talk to you soon,
Donna, sfy
Donna!
Glad you enjoyed your trip. I was so wishing I was with you. I lived in Alaska for several years (after college) and sometimes I miss it terribly. I came close to moving back a few years ago - but changed my mind cuz I was catching on that The Boy (now The Husband) was starting to fall for me. What ports did you visit? Did you do any "land tours?"
Don't feel bad about being "stuck" I am as well and have been for 3 months or so. Some days I drop down, but it's right back up in a day or two..hovering around the same weight.
I just keep plugging away following "the rules" and having faith that those last 20lbs or so will come off eventually.
Hey patty,
I can't begin to tell you what a fantastic time we had. We visited juneau, skagway and prince rupert british columbia. It was only a seven day cruise so we didn't get to go into the interior. My only disappointment is that we didn't see any orcas, I love those whales, saw plenty of hump backs and commers dolphins but no orcas.
One of the drs I work with couldn't believe that we didn't see even one dorsal fin.
How frustrating is it for you to read other peoples weight loss and not see your scale moving? It makes me nuts. Everyone at work tells me I don't need to lose any more weight but for my height, 5'1" I should weigh around 125 - 130# I'll be happy if I see 150, I'm hovering at 182 - 183. When I see our surgiversery buddies at 135 - 140 I just shake my head and can't fiqure out how they've gotten that low this fast.
