Anyone Looking Into Skin Removal Yet?

I will be a year out on October 19 and have lost right at 150 lbs. I saw my doctor last week and she said that I have "a bunch" of excess skin and fatty tissue. In a perfect world I would like to have a tummy tuck and my mid section (what ever that entire procedure is called) and my arms lifted. I could stand to have the leg skin removed and my breasts lifted, but they are not so important. I am beginning to think that I have lost everything that I am going to lose and all the excess weight is just skin. Is anybody else running into this concern? My doctor said we would look into the skin removal surgery in 6 more months. I feel so small, but still am in a size 22/24 because of all the "belly skin". All the pants that fit me are way to long and baggy in the legs if they fit me around the middle. I think my insurance will cover the tummy skin removal because of the rashes and such that I have been having, but I am not sure if there is even a possibilty of them covering the arm lift. Any suggestions or hints? And what is the most skin (weight wise) that you guys have heard of being removed? I feel so good but just feel that I still look really bad because of the skin flapping everywhere. Thanks for all the input and everyone looks just GREAT!!!

I am hoping and praying that I will be referred to a plastic surgeon by my WLS surgeon. In Canada, the governmental insurance will pay for the panni removal but not a tummy tuck. The will also pay for a breat reduction. I have lost over 140 pounds so things aren't that pretty under my clothes. I have gone from a size 26/28 to a 8/10. I will be sad if I don't qualify for any removals or reductions but I won't be devastated. I am so happy with how I look in public. It is not like everyones gets to see the "naked" me, lol Have a great day and I hope that you are able to get what u are looking for. Tara

Yes, I just spoke to a plastic surgeon on Wednesday. Believe it or not it was alot cheaper than I thought. My surgery was Oct 9, 06 so I am just under a year out, but I had to start looking now because if I have any hope at all for my insurance to pay then it has to be done before Dec 31 of this year. I started out with barely 100lbs to loose and all my weight was in my belly so I am only looking at a tummy tuck. Right now I am waiting to hear if insurance will cover or not. My plastic surgeon says he prefers to wait until the 18 month mark but since I have already lost all my weight then he isn't to concerned. Good luck if you want to find a plastic surgeon I recommend you talk to the doctor who preformed your WLS because they can recommend a good one to you.
