Anyone hurt MORE now?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE having lost all this weight but something I thought would get better is now worse. When I was over 400lbs my ankles and feet just killed me. To the point of having to crawl at times. Now 200lbs lighter my feet and ankles no longer hurt *a yippie thing*. BUT now I hurt all over the place every where else. My hips hurt ( and strangely enough more of the inside of the hip joint then the out side - hard to explain) and my sciatic is trying to kill me I think. By the end of a normal day I am walking bent over like an old lady, like my back muscles just said *i quit*. Granted life is 100% better and all that jazz, and I know I am doing more therefore more is being used yada yada but its so strange to hurt more now then I did when heavier. I thought it would be the other way around. I know I have to keep at building my muscle tone back up as I had none when I was heavier ( ok and I am sucking at working out cuz well frankly I DONT WANNA) and its going to "take time" for changes but sheesh I feel like I am 90 some days. Anyone else or am I just the freak of the bunch? Felicia =0)

Actually, my sciatica is tremendously improved, but I did want to respond to you about it. I think I said this recently to someone else here, but once you have that problem, it you have it. My little brother has always been very fit and athletic, but when he gets a sciatic attack, he's crippled with it just like I am. I'm not sure why it's hurting you more now, though, other than your new body getting used to new movements. Maybe you could consult a PT? Or ask your doc for a scrip for water therapy, if there's anything nearby. I found that to be very helpful. Sciatica sucks. It's SOOOOOO painful! Hope you feel better. Lisa

Hi ya! I have already seen a doc about it *sigh* was just having a whine day lol. Usually I can relieve it with these stretches they gave me but was just frustrated with the ouchies lol. Having one of those "WLS should have fixed everything" moments HAHAHA. Thanks for the reply!! *Big Hugs* Felicia =0)

My back has been hurting like crazy lately. Around the bra line and lower back across the hips. I have been chalking it up to things hanging and sagging in new weird and wonderful places. It is crazy. I am off of all of Lupus and arthritis meds but now my back has been driving me crazy. Maybe our bodies need to get used to being in a different location than it used to be. i don't know just a thought. I see my surgeon in a couple of weeks and I plan on complaining very loudly then! good luck with it Felicia, I hope it lets up for u soon. But see some kind of Doc soon. You are not a freak or maybe we both are, LOL Tara

Hi ya!! I am sure its just the sagging and hanging and lack of tone ( its pretty major) but it was a whine day LOL. Hubby stated that I am standing almost an inch taller now lol so everything is hanging and sagging in a different location. I told him I don't care *whine* that its tiring feeling that old lol. Hope you find something to make your back feel better!! *Huggles* Felicia =0)

That is funny as many people have told me that I look taller too. Isn't that strange. I think it is that my legs look as long as they are (34 inches). Who knows, but I hope the rest of me gets used to what and where I am carrying now. Tara

I so feel your pain! I use to have pain in my ankles and feet but now that's gone and I have been dealing with this damn back! It truly does suck! I hope you start to get some relief soon. The only thing that helped me was resting my back, prednisone and pain meds. By the end of the day I too walk like a 90 year old woman. No need to worry you are NOT the freak of the bunch! Allison

Apparently this is common after rapid weight loss. Our bodies haven't adjusted to carrying the newer us. I was hurting so badly I started to see a chiropracter. It is helping. I am also working very hard on my posture. I had learned to slump over with my weight as I sat in my chair at work. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi ya!! I work hard at it to lately. I try and catch myself slouching and straighten up. When we are out walking I make hubby keep an eye on me so I don't slouch lol. Strange how I don't remember slouching before but I must have been doing it. Just to hard to tell I was doing it I guess. Thanks for the reply!! *huggles* Felicia =0)
