FIVE DAY POUCH TEST - DAY ONE!!!
Since I work midnight shift, my day doesn't start until 2-3pm. So I will be a late poster. I'll start the thread on my shift the night before, but won't post my update until later in the evening.
What was your weight this morning? 166.5
Do you want to check in with our weight each day or just wait until the end of the test to see how good you did? I'll probably post my weight each day.
How are you feeling today? Any headaches? Upset stomach? Crankiness? Feelin' GOOD!!! A little head hunger, but resisting the snacking.
Do you have any favorite recipes or tips for drinking your protein shakes? I did my chocolate protein shake with my 1/4 cup of strong instant decaf mixed in.
Did you exercise? If so, what did you do? Nope didn't exercise. Planned on it, but went to pick meg up from daycare, then she was sick and wanted me to hold her. She ended up throwing up on me.
What do you hope to achieve from doing the Five Day Pouch Test? I'd love to lose 5 pounds and BREAK THE SNACKING/GRAZING Pattern I have fallen into.
Aside from Water and Protein shakes are you having anything else today? I had some protein soup I bought online when Dave had his surgery and I did end up eating a tablespoon of peanut butter. Other than that, just protein shakes and water, water, water.
Did you plan a menu for the week to make sure you had everything on hand you need to get through these Five Days? I did plan a menu. I was very excited about starting this. Dave already petered out and I am left doing this alone in our household. His 6 month checkup is on Wednesday. He could have benefited from this, but NOOOOOO!!!
Do you think this is going to be harder to do than it was when you had the surgery? Heck yeah, it's going to be harder. I'm used to eating and my pouch is, too. There really isn't any price to pay for eating something that I shouldn't right now, either, other than beign upset with myself. Whereas with the surgery you COULDN'T eat!!! There were consequences.
Hope everyone has a successful week and acheives what they want out if it.
hugs,
Tabby
Back to basics! I didn't do so well yesterday. It was such a stressful day. I did drink EAS shakes at work. I had 3 of them. By the time I got home, I was so hungry. I was also making a beef stew for my roommate. She had been asking me to make it for awhile. I had forgotten about starting yesterday with the pouch test when I began to make the stew. It smelled so good. I only had a little bit of the beef and broth. Good protein at least.
I am going to try again today to stay away from chewing food. I will drink my shakes all day. I may have some melon when I get home to help with the hunger issue. Hopefully today will be much less stressful. I doubt my office wil be much calmer, but maybe everyone will be in today to help with the phones etc. Two of my office staff were out and I had been out Friday for my endoscopy. Also, my son was in an accident as I was on my way home. he hit a teeneged girl as he was turning a corner. She just stepped out in front of him. Luckily, he was traveling less than 5 mph. He didn't get a ticket. However, this is not an experience anyone would like to go through minor or not.
As I said, I was so stressed yesterday!
Good luck for day two!
