booze
I recently went to Las Vegas and the only drink I could think of that didn't have sugar, that I didn't think would kill me was a Bloody Mary. I had a couple over a couple of hours and was feeling pretty good. I sipped them, but it did wear off very quickly.
I'm going to have to check out the sugar free mixes. Sounds yummy!
I haven't had too much trouble with alcohol I have had beer, margaritas, vodka and orange juice, wine, and champagne. I find that light beer is too foamy so I drink regular. It's what sits the most comfortably. I have a buzz after one and am very loopy with 2. Two will make me really tired afterward so I usually stick to 1 unless I wait more than an hour between and eat. We go to a lot of baseball games so I did it this way. Beer when I got there, wait 1/2 hour have dinner, wait 1/2 hour have another beer. I get buzzed more quickly and sober up more quickly. I dumped on a margarita on ice but not the frozen one. I drink about once a week with no trouble (except for that one dump and sometimes I get VERY tired). I NEVER drive when I drink. HAve fun!!
I was never a big drinker to begin with. I would occasionally have a "girlie" drink while out with friends. I did enjoy a nice Schmirnoff Ice on the weekends, and, when I was sick, I would mix my Robotussin, with some vodka and cranberry juice (sounds funny, but I swear it worked better than Nyquil)
Post surgery I have consumed SOME alcohol..but...like the others, it certainly hits me MUCH faster.
On my honeymoon I would sip on 1/4 of a glass of champagne. We were in Bermuda which is famous for its Rum Swizzles. I ordered 1 and drank about 1/2 of it..gave the rest to The Boy. That made me feel a little "air headed" and loopy for about 1/2 an hour.
Since then I have only sipped on his Schmirnoff Ice's when he has them..just a few sips here and there. On a recent girls day this summer I had 1/2 a bay breeze and got, in my opinion, downright TOASTED. I had been thinking about leaving but ended up waiting about 3 more hours until I felt well and safe enough to drive.
Anyone boozing yet? We are not really drinkers so I would have to say now. I cook with wine a lot does that count? LOLOL
How's that working for you? So far anything with out bubbles I would probably be fine with. Had a sip of a beer a couple months ago was UGLY the bubbles tried to kill me...
What do you drink? Every Christmas I get a bottle of Baily's ( small one ) its my treat. Last year I couldn't have it but I am SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to it this year.

Hi Lisa,
I was not much of a drinker before surgery...I did have a shot of something at the kids wedding and it went straight to my head.....At Bill's Christmas Party they always have spiced wine and it is sooooo good...I was too afraid to try it last year, but will definitely sip some of it this year!
