Anyone Working out?
(raises hand and says "me me!")
I'm still working out. I have "cooled off" some for the summer so that I can be home more with the new husband...no more nightly trek to the gym for resistance training and cardio. I am going twice a week however. I just finished a 10 week spinning class and a 10 week water aerobics session. We are in a two week break and then start the next session. This time water aerobics and..KICKBOXING.
On the weekends we've been hiking and biking and swimming as much as possible..definately enough to qualify as working out and we are planning to try out the local rock climbing gym in the fall as well.
I am totally jealous of your energy level. Man I go to the gym in the morning and then walk a mile with Joshua when we get home and feel like I need a nap for the rest of the day. I am hoping that the more I do it the more energy I will feel but so far *ug* I need a nap! lol
Summer is not my favorite season so now that it is finally cooling off a touch ( we have been in the high 90s and 100s for 2 months!!) all I want to do is go outside! I am sick of the AC.
How did you like the spinning class? How is married life?
Have fun at the rock climbing thing!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Thanks Felicia,
My energy level is good, but not great. Yes, I do a lot of stuff, but that's not saying I don't collapse the minute I finally get through the door at night. If I were to work out in the morning, I would be like you I think...in need of a nap for the rest of the day. As it is, my workout is usually the last thing before I go home for the evening, so when I get through that door, I'm done. Some nights, I'm so tired that the DH has to warm up dinner for me (which I wisely cooked and put in the frige the night before).
The spinning class, at first was great. The evening instructors at my Y are mostly "part-timers", working mothers, or singles with full-time jobs that picked up teaching at the Y as a way for teh free membership. I have to admit, that this session, I was officially in better shape than my instructor (who, as a side note is now 4 weeks out from WLS herself). Most of the time we were 1 on 1 in the class..she didn't even get on the bike but would stand there and talk to me about WLS and ask advice while I pedaled away (and she was the one getting paid for it).
Married life is great. We are still getting through the major adjustments and figuring out our "roles" as far as household duties go. I had to have a chat with him about my need for "me time" on occasion, and he's been good about giving me space from time to time. We're looking forward to the future, which is a great feeling.
Keep up the good work youself Felicia. I know with your son, and homeschooling, and trying to get to the gym every day - you're life must be SOOO hectic, I admire you!
I'm exercising and trying to firm up, as well as to lose these last 10 pounds or so. I'm still waiting for that magic time where I am supposed to "miss" exercise after I firmly establish the exercise habit. So far, it is still a chore -- but I can see the difference in my body. It is hard to find the time, as I still have one child at home (a senior this year) and a more-than-full-time job.
I have decided that as much as I love losing weight and getting in shape I am VERY lazy at heart and just want it to magically happen *sigh*. And WHY it doesn't just magically happen I just cant understand *grin*. I WANT to miss it. I WANT to WANT to do it. I guess after what 3 times to the gym now hahahaha I cant be expecting that kind of "Ah ha" moment yet, darn it.
Good luck on that last 10lbs. Did you ever think you would see "that last 10lbs"?

Hi Felicia, Trust me, it will get better. I haved worked out religously since January. When spring and summer hit, I have been working out daily. In May, when I was going up and down the same 2-4 pounds, I hired a personal trainer. I have been working with her for 4 months. She has been a Godsend. She has got me interested ina variety of classes, as well as really push me to limits I never thought I would achieve. We weight train two days a week, and the other days I take classes at the gym. As well as a nightly hike at the local park. My hikes have increased from 1 mile to 5 miles this summer. I do pilates and aerobics. My latest passion is spinning, now 4 days a week. I have turned my food obsession into an exercise one! Now if I miss a day, I feel lost without it. So hang in there, it does get easier, and at some point you will find yourself enjoying it, and missing it if you dont. I panic on holidays because the gym is closed. Got lucky for this Labor Day, they are having a special spinning class only. 5.00 donation, to be given toward the Race for the Cure coming up in Sept. I am happy to say, I am participating in the Race for the Cure this year! My coworkers are sponsoring me to walk the 5K. Wohoo!
Omgosh I hope so cuz right now I am struggling. I am tired. My body is pissy at me and UGGG I HATE BEING SO WEAK!!! You are so inspiring!!! I wanna be just like you when I grow up *grin* Ok so I want your energy at least. I am hoping thats what I am headed for. I am tired of being tired for the sake of being tired. Its so funny about the 5K. I used to watch those on TV and think ( are they nuts ) and now I was just telling hubby the other day that next spring I want to start doing the walks for this and walks for that. I am not a runner. Just not my thing ( wasnt when I was thin either lol ) but I do like to walk and think it would be a great way to get out there, meet people and wiggle my jiggle a bit.
Keep posting about your work outs!! Its inspiring!!!
