I did it...I made the call

Since I have been hovering around 170 for the past month, I decided there was no time like the present to call a PS to inquire about a timeline and such. I had no idea where they wanted me to be weightwise, how far out from surgery or whatever. I told myself that when I got to 165 I would call a PS because that was my initial goal and I figured it would take a while to get an appt. WELLLLLL...when I called today to ask a few questions, they said that they want me to maintain for 3 months, but would be best to schedule an appt with the PS to see where I am and what I want and where to go from there. The next available appt is....ready???? AUGUST 8TH!!!! In two weeks. I was 168.5 today, so I still want to get to 165 by my appt...Hee Hee. I can do it. Can't I??? I am excited, but nervous to find out that my insurance won't cover anything. I would be happy with them covering the TT and me paying for the girls...although I would be very happy if they covered both. The PS I am going to meet with does mostly WLS pts, so I am confident that he will know the best way to word the paperwork, so it gets approved. Wish me luck. I'll let you know what I find out. I also have my EMG that week for the numbness in my leg/foot. Lots of Dr's appts that week. Fun, fun. Hugs, Tabby

Tabby, Congratulations on making the call. I know how scary that call is. I put it off for the longest time. My TT & BL/BA is scheduled for August 7th. Things really moved quickly, more quickly than I expected them to. I kept waiting to lose 100 pounds before I made the call. But when my weight loss stalled out at 99 pounds for the longest time, I decided I had to call or it would never happen. I finally got past the 100 mark the day of my consult. You'll make your goal! You've done so well so far. I'm proud of you. Blessings, Annette

Way yo go Tabby, taking that first step is so nerve racking. I haven't done it yet and I am so scared! The government, in Canada, is our insurance provider and they can be so strict. They will only pay for a panni (not tummy tuck) and a breast reduction. I had a WLS friend who was told that she didn't have enough breast tissue left for a reduction so if she wanted anything done to the girls she would have to pay. I am now a 34 (actually 33) G! Yep that is not a typo, now try and fit those puppies in a BRA, lol. I hope that means I qualify! I will keep my fingers crossed that the plastics appoinment and the EMG both go well for you. Take care Tara
