fear...no, FEAR
Ok, I've always dealt made a point of studying on things as much as possible, to get gain knowledge and get control, to dispel fears. So, last night, I did just that. Started reading about lymph nodes and such. There's way too much info out there!
And, let me just say, this didn't help...aside from not feeling like I know anything more, I am now scared. Scared silly. Have-to-remember-to-breathe scared. This totally ticks me off.
What am I supposed to read and how do I read it without being horrified???
Lisa
Lisa,
let me first say it's so normal to be scared, if you weren't I'd be worried. Why are you researching lymph nodes? Have you doctors mentioned lymph node involvement along w/ the breast lump?
I think the more you read the better educated you are w/ regards to certain things. But when you start overloading your brain w/ info your brain starts turning to mush and all the info starts running together and doesn't make much scense and tends to confuse us more. My suggestion ti you would be to sit and write down your concerns and questions then speak w/ your pcp/surgeon so he/she can releave your fears.
Have they scheduled a needle biopsy yet? Or are you having a lumpectomy?
Please keep up updated on your progress and con't to know that you remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Donna, sfy
LISA,
THE LYMPH SYSTEM, AS YOU MAY HAVE READ IS A LARGE FILTRATION SYSTEM FOR OUR BODY. SOMETIMES THESE DUCTS GET BLOCKED FOR WHAT EVER REASON. I HOPE AND PRAY THIS WILL BE SO IN YOUR CASE.
I'LL BE THINKING OF YOU AND PRAYING FOR YOU ON THE 12th.
PLEASE KEEP UP POSTED ON YOUR CONTINUED PROGRESS.
DONNA
Hmmm....well...first of all...what Donna said, ditto.
Second...it's hard to know exactly what to read up on to educate yourself when you don't really know what it is that is there. So....my suggestion is to maybe just read some general stuff and stop there. Wait till you get your results after the removal. Then you'll know what to research and can get specific info - IF you even need it then!!
Continuing to hold you in my heart and prayers.
Hugs,
Susan
