What a week!
I'm back from my Smoky Mountain adventure.
Besides my honeymoon this was the first trip since I was a small child where my "weight" and "dissabilities" did not keep me back from doing what ever it was I decided I wanted to do at the moment.
My days were spent:
bike riding (in the mountains no less - lots of hills)
swimming
learning to "drive" a pontoon boat
hiking (even up to some pretty significant [for the east coast] mountain peaks)...
Best yet...
I RODE A ROLLER COASTER!!!
About 6 years ago I had major brain surgery and was told it may be a good idea to avoid roller coasters...well..that was easy for me as I couldn't fit in the coaster seats anyway - so I used it as an excuse to avoid theme parks completely. However...I have had no "brain" issues at all since I have lost this weight..and I was feeling brave. They have "tester seats" outside the rides at Dollywood and I was having a BLAST showing off how I fit in each and every one of those seats with lots of room to spare. It wasn't enough for me to test the seats....eventually I gave up and just HAD to give a coaster a try too.
No problems at all - no head issues, not weight issues - just loads of fun!
Girl,
pat yourself on the back. You have come so far and had so many accomplishments I can't stand it.
A roller coaster? Better you than me. I'm getting an upset stomach just thinking about riding in one.
Glad you had a wonderful time and no head problems.
Didn't it feel great to be able to fit into all those seats?
Waaaaaaaaaaa hooooooooooooo
keep up the wonderful work.
Donna, sfy
YAY!!!!!! What an awesome trip! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the way up and down and up and down and up and down! I can not wait till I can do a roller coaster again. have used the excuse that I was afraid of them for years. Truth be told I am not at all afraid of them. Just the embarrassment. Still do not think I will brave it this summer but next summer WATCH OUT! I will be there every step of the ride!
SOOOO glad you had such a great time and had no other problems! AWESOME!!!!
Hugs,
Melissa
