MR. MOOGEY BUES
WELL, TOOK THE TWO HOUR ONE WAY TRIP TO THE FELINE SPECIALIST TODAY. LEFT THE HOUSE AT 1045am AND JUST GOT HOME. YES, YOU READ RIGHT, WE JUST GOT HOME.
THE VET EXAMINED MR. MOOGEY AND DID A CARDIAC ULTRASOUND. HE FOUND THAT HE STILL HAD FLUID ON HIS LUNGS AND PROCEDED TO DO A THOROCENTESIS AND PULLED MORE WHITE COLORED FLUID OFF HIM. HE SAID HIS HEART LOOKS GOOD, NO DEFECTS THAT HE CAN SEE BUT HE DID SEE A MASS/TUMOR IN HIS UPPER CHEST.
MR. MOOGEY WILL BE GOING INTO SURGERY TOMORROW AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'LL FIND. DON'T KNOW IF IT'S CANCEROUS OR NOT. I CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE OF THIS HEARTACHE. IT'S MAKING ME CRAZY. BESIDES WHICH, I'M GOING BROKE, JUST ON THE CAT. WITH TODAY'S VISIT I'VE SHELLED OUT, ARE YOU ALL SITTING DOWN? REMEMBER, NO CHILDREN, I'M SINGLE, SO HE'S MY BABY. I SHELLED OUT $3500.00 BETWEEN LAST WEEKS VISIT, THE SPECIALIST AND THE UPCOMMING SURGERY, AND THAT'S THE LOW ESTIMATE THEY GAVE ME. SO WHEN I CAN PICK HIM UP I'LL PROBABLY BE HANDING OVER MORE MONEY.
I KNOW, I KNOW, I'M CRAZY, BUT YOU ALL WOULD DO IT FOR YOUR CHILDREN TOO.
TAKE CARE AND GIVE YOUR PETS A HUG AND A KISS.
DONNA, SFY
I am so sorry that you have to go through this. My heart goes out to you. Please know I am praying for you and Mr. Moogey Bues

Chin up....

Melissa
Oh, Donna, Sweetie...I'm so sorry that you have had so much heartache lately. I'm sorry to hear that they have to operate on Mr Moogey Bues. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that the tumor is not cancerous. Hugs to you and your kitty.
I was one of those people that "used" to think you were crazy about spending that much $$$ on keeping a cat alive. Then I have a friend at work that had 3 cats that were her babies. One was really sick and she kept taking it in for ultrasounds and differet treatments and x-rays and I asked her "When do you say enough is enough?" and she said "When would you say that about one of your kids?" Put me in my place. I felt aweful. Just because I would not spend that much on keeping an animal alive doesn't mean someone else shouldn't. To each his own. I would go broke with treatments or testing for my kids if I had to, which hopefully I never have to experience that. So, in short...I don't think you are crazy for doing whatever is necessary to keep your baby alive.
Hugs to you and Mr. Moogey Bues,
Tabby
Donna, I hope Mr. Moogey is doing well post operatively. Please let us know. I've been thinking about him.
One of my friends has many pets - one is a desert tortoise (endangered species). When Moab (the tortoise) contracted pneumonia as a baby tortoise, we gave him injections of antibiotics twice a day in his leg. I still remember seeing his entire little body on a xray! Moab was about the size of a 50 cent piece - and you can imagine how much he liked getting injections in his leg! He is fine now, and HUGE
The point is (and I have one) is that these creatures can and do get better with excellent care - and it sounds as if you are providing excellent care for Mr. Moogey. I'm sending him positive healing thoughts today.
Donna how is Mr. Moogey going? I don't think you are crazy. I have 3 fur babies that I would die for. My 2 little ones I bottle fed for over 6 weeks because they were abandoned by their kitty mommy at about 10 days old. They are my babies! I may not have given birth to them and I don't need to start college funds but they are my babies in every other way. I am praying for you and Mr. Moogie.
