what's up with me
Hi All,
At seven months and one week post-op, I've lost 110 lbs, 99 inches, and more than 21 points from my BMI. I saw my primary doc last night; she didn't recognize me at first. And she said, "Lisa, I didn't realize you were so little! You're really petite!" Isn't that funny? It didn't strike her that I was five-foot-nothing before!
I have to have my gall bladder out. The pain is growing. I'd thought it was muscle pain at first, as it was in my back. Fortuneately, the folks at my 6-month post-op support group told me to talk to my surgeon about it. I had stones at the time of surgery, but he didn't think my insides were healthy enough to keep me open and go after the gall bladder at that time. I'm told the surgery is done outpatient and I could probably have it on a Thursday and be back at work on Monday. I'm trying to schedule it for July 12th.
I am going to do the Step Up to Fight Diabetes in October...a ten mile walk that includes stairs - 1000 steps or 100 stories! I've never done anything like this before, but I am determined to do it...because I can...because I'm grateful...and to honor my brother's memory. I will attend an orientation and register this Sunday...and find out just how the hell to prepare for such a thing!
New job is going very well. Pain aside, I feel pretty damn good.
Hope everyone else is feeling good too.
Lisa
Congrats on all your losses. WOW that is awesome.
I am sorry that the GB has so come out but from what we have heard on here it should be a breeze. Much better than the RNY.
Keep us updated on the steps. Have to say you are way more brave than me. My knees still are not ready for those kind of steps. Lots of admiration for ya girl!!! YOU GO!!!!!!!
Best wishes and hugs,
Melissa
Lisa,
wow, what statistics you've posted. Congratulations on your wonderful accomplishments and keep up the great work. You're an inspiration to us all.
The gallbladder surgery will be a breeze compaired to the WLS. Before you know it you'll be back to your old self and wondering why you put it off for so long.
I commend you on doing the step up to fight diabetes. Not only are you doing it for a great cause you're also doing yourself a world of good, great exercise. I know I'd never be able to do that May miles and/or steps.
Let us know how it goes.
