So... I signed up ...
So... I signed up for tanning last night..(Felicias Post a while back inspired me and I use to go every summer for two weeks to get my base, back in the 80's - seems like yesterday) Wow, have things changed..The girl asked me if I have ever tanned before.. I said yes, last time was in 1987. She said "that's the year I was born" hee heee.. So anyways..They have this big ole machine that bronzes you in like 10 min, spray
tan, leg tan, stand up tan.. etc..The first price she quoted me was $200 for 4
sessions of something.. Then it went to $126 for 15 sessions and 5
points.. I was all huh?? Don't you just have a regular
bed like back then??? She said yes.. but it takes 20 min???? LOL.. I
said it use to take 35.. So the standard bed that takes the huge amount of
time of 20 mins was $40 for a month of unlimited tan.. That's the one I
picked.. So, she was going to put me in for the entire 20 mins.. I was
all nooooo.. I went in for 12 and I am FRIED.. So they are way different
then from 20 years ago.. and the funny thing is that when i lay down, all
my skin hangs. so I have this 3X7 inch line down my back where my skin
met. looks really cute.. LOL.. Just call me skunky..
Seriously though. It felt so good to walk in there and not have a care in the world and do something I did 20 years ago..
Also, thought I would give you guys a heads up.. Just in case it has been awhile..
I am laughing so hard I nearly cried. Skunky! What a great description! And, "hee hee! 1987 - That's the year I was born!" I almost fell out of my chair. How quickly we have become the "older generation!" Seems like I was just in high school myself. (All right, I am not delusional. I realize that was 35 years ago, I just choose not to acknowledge it.)
I have not been to a tanning salon in years and years and years, so I appreciate the information and advice. With my skin that resembles the underbelly of a fi****hink that I would emerge fully fried after 12 minutes.
Glad you could walk in without a care in the world. What a wonderful feeling. Thanks for sharing.
I am still laughing.. It was an experience!! If you could of seen my face when she told me $200 for some kinda session.. I am sure it was priceless.. I couldnt believe my ears.. I thought to myself, it better get rid of some of this skin too!!
I really enjoyed it though.
I think everyone should at least try it again.. Kinda Cool...
Luvs and Hugs!

Hi Tiffany!
You are so funny! I just started tanning a month ago - I'm very, very fair, and was tired of looking so white and pastey, now that I am losing weight and wearing brighter colors, I needed my skin to look good to help! So I braved the storm and walked into Hollywood Tans and bought me a month - The booth I go in is a stand up booth, that's all they have, and the MAX you can go in for is 10 minutes; I started at 6 minutes, and now I'm up to 8 - and I have a nice tan going on!! It's the FIRST thing, besides the surgery, that I did for ME and really enjoy the benefits. I am signing up for my next month tomorrow! It's 34.99 a month/unlimited, I go 3 or 4 times a week. but I have big white patches under my boobs because they droop! and where the skin hangs, you can see the white in the folds, but i dont care - no one is going to see anything but my face, neck, and forearms!! But I like looking under my shirt and hardly seeing my scar since it's so tan down there!!
Just have to do it...
HEY SKUNKY!!!!!
Sorry, couldn't resist. I have to tell ya, I'm laughing out loud over here at your experience...from the facial expression over the $200 to the white stripe down your back. What a priceless experience!!! Enjoy your tanning!!!
I'm planning on staying pale personally....but it suits my red hair and freckles. Even when I "tan" the only thing that happens is my freckles get darker. Not worth spending the $$ IMO.
