SLOWING DOWN

I had my surgery on 10/3/06 and I have lost about 88 lbs. However, I have hit the longest of stalls. I have been going up and down like 2 lbs for the last 4 weeks. It sucks. I have 30lbs to lose until I'm at goal. The doctor says I'm doing fine but patience isn't my strong suit. Wanted to see if anyone else has stalled like this and how did you get through it physically and emotionally.

My scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. I've never had a stall before - so I figure my body is due. I've been trying to shake it up this week with extra protein and TONS more water - we'll see how it does. I wouldn't worry - lots of people here have hit stalls of varying durations throughout the journey.

I think its happening to everyone. I know for me I go for a couple weeks with no loss or maybe just a 1lb and then boom I have a whooshie week then back to zero to 1lb for a couple weeks loss. Its annoying but I guess its part of the deal. I think we just have to stick to plan and hang in there. It will come off if we keep working the plan. Hang in there!! Felicia =0)

This is almost EXACTLY my story!! I had surgery 10/5. I have lost 88 pounds and have 28 to go. I am participating in a 'stallbusting" challenge on my VSG board. We are back to protein, no more than 40 carbs/day, all the fluids, exercise and no more than 500-800 calories to try to bust our stalls! (Remember VSG's do not have malabsorption, so we have to keep the calories lower to break our stalls.) I'll report back next week!

WOW, We are so much the same. I too have lost 88 lbs and 30 lbs to go. and hardly losing anything now.. 1 pound gained/lost here and there.. I have been feeling really bad latley about it.. So I went walking for 2 miles tonight.. Have cut out all bread.. I was only eating like 1 piece a day for a half of sandwhich and sometimes a 1/2 of english muffin.. But maybe that is to much?? Almost every one on here has lost 100 pounds +. So I get pretty discouraged.. We will see if my changes will help.. I really wish I could excerise more.. I have super super bad knees.. After I walk I am in pain for days.. Hopefully, I can get that fixed soon with surgery.. I just dont have any sick time saved as I used it all for WLS.. But I am sure I will figure something out.. Please add me as a friend. We can keep in touch and support each other.. This cant be end.. Hang in there.. Luvs and Hugs! Tiff

I too have lost 90lbs and have another 50 to go. I have slowed WAY down. In the past few weeks I have either lost nothing, or lost 1lb. This week, I have tried to step it up but still, nothing lost yet. I have increased my water, increased my protein, and tried to cut out any extra calories. I even made sure to get out and go biking more this week. Still, nothing. I am hoping this isn't the end, but I think I need to see that scale moving to keep me motivated. Hang in there, hopefully we will all be able to jump start our systems again. Molly
