Tanning...

Usually I just use sunblock and embrace my whiteness. However, I got burned a bit (even with sunblock) in Bermuda - which turned to a nice tan. I was wearing a wet suit that day, so, only my knee caps down received the color. Then, the next week, we had a yardsale and I forgot sunblock - so I got a great FARMERS tan. Now I need to do something as I have two weddings to attend in the next two weekends and am wearing a sleeveless dress. I bought a bottle of moisterizer w/ gradual tanning agents that I am faithfully using. It hasn't evened the tan out yet - but I still have a few more days to go before I need that horrible stripe on my arm to be gone. If it's no better by Friday I will break down and buy a more "instant" version of a self tanner. Thanks to all your posts it looks like I have a few options to try!

Well, normally, I don't do anything - I am a burner; I do go out in the sunner, but i go out knowing I"m going to burn and eventually get a bit of color from it. But I look so much better when I'm burned than I do when I'm just plain white. But as I've dropped weight, I've noticed my selection of clothes has really changed - I'm wearing brighter colors (I've spent the better half of my life in DARKS; - navy and black and solids only). I've got a really bright wardrobe now, and feel great in the clothes I'm wearing, but I look so pale and needed some color. SO I got up the guts to walk into Hollywood tans 2 weeks ago, and now I can't stop! I have a nice color, not too tan, I'm starting to realize maybe I'll never have a dark voluptious tan, but I definitely have a tan. I look much healthier and most importantly, to ME, feel I look so much better and feel good about myself. Yes, I know tanning is BAD BAD BAD.... never have been an advocate for it.... BUT I FIGURED, ALL I WENT THROUGH, I'M GOING ALL THE WAY AND IF IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD, I'M DOING IT!!
