Off Topic - Midlife crisis
I think I must be having a late mid-life crisis! I just bought a cute LITTLE convertible! I found this marvelous 1998 VW Cabrio convertible with only 75,000 miles on it - in perfect shape for almost nothing! Leather seats, all the bells and whistles. Bought it from a friend that takes immaculate care of his cars.
Eighty pounds ago, I would have had to struggle to get in and out of this. Now, I leap in and out. I have to tell you -- after a hard day at work I get into this little thing, put down the top, and sit back and laugh! Life is pretty darned good right now!
I just have one thing to say....
Evelyn, you are my HERO!!!!!
A convertible?? AWESOME!!!!!! Whenever I have to rent a vehicle (not often enough, lol) I always get the Sebring Convertible my favorite rental place. There's just nothing like driving with the top down and the wind blowing thru your hair. LOVE IT!!
Congrats....and girl....update your avatar with a pic of you in that baby!!! Woooo hoooo!!!!

Thanks everyone. It has been an absolute HOOT to drive this thing. I am still so camera shy, but I need to "get over it" and take a photo of me in the new little car -- and post it! My 17 year old son thinks I have lost my mind - but who cares? Three of my friends from the VSG board have plans to go to a local quilt show in this new car - We are calling it our "Four Hot Babes in a Sports Car" journey.
I'm lucky to have a few fellow VSG'ers in my region, so we can get together from time to time and compare notes. Our WLS journey is a bit different. Our surgery was restrictive only, no malabsorption, so we have to do things a bit differently to succeed. We have lots of fun, and two or three of us can go out to eat together and share one entree!

LOL Way To Go!!!! I actually did a similar thing. I've always wanted a Ford Mustang. Last September, just before my surgery, my hubby and I went out and bought an '05 Ford Mustang. It's soooo nice. To have a hot car, and now feel so good about yourself.
I have to admit, I wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't had the surgery. Now when I leave work, I roll the windows down (it's black with black interior) and crank up the tunes.
Life is Grand
