Yay for the question of the day!
1. What did you have for breakfast today? Low fat cottage cheese (not fat free, cuz that just tastes horrible) and peaches sweetened w/ splenda
2. What time did you get up this morning? 6am
3. What are you wearing? tan slacks, a white tank and a peach, thin knit, 3/4 sleeve cardigan.
4. What size do you wear now? What did you wear at surgery? Right now I am wearing 16s and 18s mostly, before surgery I was squeezing in to a 28, but really needing a 32.
5. Do you see the change yet? Or is your brain still trying to catch up with your body? In some pictures I see the change, in others I do not. I have a harder time with noticing a change in the lower 1/2 of my body. It's mostly loose skin, but I feel like my legs are sooo huge (I know they aren't).
6. Have you made any dramatic changes in your appearance since having WLS? What are they? Yes, haircut and contacts, I also grew my nails longer and have been painting them and my toenails.
7. Knowing what you know now about life after WLS, IF you could go back and do it all over again, would you? What would you change? I'm kind of glad I didn't know, if I could do it again, I would probably have eaten MORE prior to the surgery..you know...having that funnel cake one last time, enjoying more desserts etc. I crave them sometimes. I was actually GOOD before my surgery and kept away from them (like we should) - so not knowing I would miss them so much was actually a GOOD thing.
8. Which vitamins do you take each day? Do you spread them out thru out the day or do you take them all at once? I take a multi-vitam, a calcium supplement, iron, biotin, B-12 sub-lingual. I take all except the calcium in the morning, then a while later I take the calcium.
9. What is your favorite protein snack? string cheese or soy crisps
10. What is one thing that has changed the most for you since WLS? My lifestyle. Before WLS I was low energy, lazy etc. I was exsisting only. My house was a mess, I never moved once I got home from work...I sat down on the couch and there I stayed. Since WLS I am a very active person. I have started my own business in the evenings, and am doing quite well at it. After work I find the time to teach lessons, go to the gym etc. I don't get home until about 9pm and still have energy to do chores around the house and spend quality time with The Boy.
1. What did you have for breakfast today? Vanilla Protein Drink 1/2 orange
2. What time did you get up this morning? 6:30 am
3. What are you wearing? Jeans and green pullover top
4. What size do you wear now? What did you wear at surgery? 14 now. 26-28 at surgery
5. Do you see the change yet? Sometimes I see the change....
Or is your brain still trying to catch up with your body? Sometimes my brain is still trying to catch up!
6. Have you made any dramatic changes in your appearance since having WLS? What are they? Shorter haircut....
7. Knowing what you know now about life after WLS, IF you could go back and do it all over again, would you? What would you change? DEFINITELY!! As of right now, there isn't one thing I would change!
8. Which vitamins do you take each day? Do you spread them out thru out the day or do you take them all at once? Vit C, MultiVit, Potassium, Caltrate, Prilosec, Ativan I spread them out through the day
9. What is your favorite protein snack? String Cheese!
10. What is one thing that has changed the most for you since WLS? I have more confidence in myself than I did even 6 months ago!
1. What did you have for breakfast today? 12 oz cookies and cream protein shake (6:00 am) 1/2 a container of yogurt with 1/3 c high protein, high fiber cereal and 2 Tbs flax seeds (avout 8:30---I do this mostly for the fiber)
2. What time did you get up this morning? (5:00 am)
3. What are you wearing? Jeans and pale yellow polo shirt.
4. What size do you wear now? What did you wear at surgery? Now 16 jeans, M-L tops. Before 24-26.
5. Do you see the change yet? Or is your brain still trying to catch up with your body?
I can see the change most definately. I recently posted my 6 month pictures.
6. Have you made any dramatic changes in your appearance since having WLS? What are they? No big changes besides the weight and cuter clothes.
7. Knowing what you know now about life after WLS, IF you could go back and do it all over again, would you? What would you change? ABSOLUTELY!!!!
8. Which vitamins do you take each day? Do you spread them out thru out the day or do you take them all at once? Chewable Multi-Vitamin (morning & night) Super B-Complex (morning), Sublingual B-12 (morning), 1500 mcg calicum citrate w/D and magnesium (3 times a day 9, 12:30 & 4:00).

3. What are you wearing? Black slacks, tan shirt, black & tan jacket
4. What size do you wear now? What did you wear at surgery? I'm wearing and 8! Before surgery I was squeezing into 20's. Should have been 22's.
5. Do you see the change yet? Or is your brain still trying to catch up with your body? I am starting to get used to my new body. Still have "fat" days when I still see the old me. The hardest part is getting used to smaller clothes on the hanger. I still pick 16's off the rack and think "that won't fit, it's too small."
6. Have you made any dramatic changes in your appearance since having WLS? What are they? I keep chopping away at my hair for some reason. My daughter has threatened to hide my scissors.
7. Knowing what you know now about life after WLS, IF you could go back and do it all over again, would you? What would you change? I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But I'd start taking my vitamins several months pre-op, especially the biotin.
8. Which vitamins do you take each day? Do you spread them out thru out the day or do you take them all at once? Two pre-natal multi-vitimins, Super B-complex, Omega-3, two iron tablets, calcium citrate, & biotin. I do the B-12 injections a couple of times a month.
9. What is your favorite protein snack? Turkey pepperoni chips. Recipe: layer turkey pepperoni between paper towels and microwave for 2 1/2 minutes. Let cool. Nice and crunchy. Lots of protein, and the fat goes in the paper towel.
10. What is one thing that has changed the most for you since WLS? I am the last one finished eating instead of the first.
Annette
Hmm...I haven't done these in ages...was wondering if you were still posting them...
1. What did you have for breakfast today?
Slice of rye toast with two slices of ham, but couldn't get it all down.
2. What time did you get up this morning?
5:30.
3. What are you wearing?
Right now? Um...an old tank top that's way too big now to wear in public and undies, also a bit too big...damn, do I need to get to the shops.
4. What size do you wear now? What did you wear at surgery?
Before surgery, I was a size 32 top, though sometimes that was too tight and a 26-28 bottom. Currently, I wear an 18/20/22 top, depending how it's made and a 16 bottom.
5. Do you see the change yet? Or is your brain still trying to catch up with your body?
Yes, I see the change. Yes, my brain is trying to catch up with my body.
6. Have you made any dramatic changes in your appearance since having WLS? What are they?
Just take more care with dressing and grooming when going out in public.
7. Knowing what you know now about life after WLS, IF you could go back and do it all over again, would you? What would you change?
Hell, yes, I would do it all again, every bit of stress, every bit of pain, every bit of nausea. I would do it all again and thank Goddess for it every day, as I do now.
8. Which vitamins do you take each day? Do you spread them out thru out the day or do you take them all at once?
Not as many as I should, but my levels were good at my 6 month exam. My B12 was a bit low, but not a problem. My surgeon suggested I take it in a sublingual form, which I've been doing, and it goes down much easier. I ran out of multi's recently and keep forgetting to get more. I take my iron pill. And a B-complex, also now as sublingual.
9. What is your favorite protein snack?
Cheese.
10. What is one thing that has changed the most for you since WLS?
I'm not waiting to die within the next six years from diabetes.
