I just wanted to thank everyone *****plyed to my posting about my mom. I can't tell you how great is was to read all the wonderful, uplifting, loving prayers you all sent our way. I know God has a plan for all of us and I pray each day and night that his will is done. I just pray that when he decides to take mom it's quick and painless, hopefully in her sleep BUT NOT FOR A LONG TIME YET. Yesterday margaret and I talked her into comming out front of the house and watch us plant a beautiful garden of all her favorite flowers. She so enjoyed it, but made her real tired. Today has been a slightly better day, mom got up and ate her usual breakfast, two pieces of toast and a mug of tea. Lunch wasn't great, I made her a roast beef sandwich and a cup of applesauce, didn't eat the sandwich, just the applesauce. Tonight she had 3 small pieces of london broil, 1/2 of a twice baked potato and about 1/3c of home grown spinach. So at least mom had more to eat than other days. No aches and pains today, hopefully that's a good sign. Again, thanks so much for the support and beiing here for me and all of us. Donna, margaret and alice (mom)

Hey susan, just got on board and saw your message. Thanks so much for the support. I just don't know what to do anymore. Mom's getting so weak, I had to walk her out to the kitchen this morning and she almost fell twice, her knees just give out. Unfortunately there's only my sister margaret and I here and we both have to work. I'm lucky in one respect, that I only work 3 days a week, but it's those three days that I'm not home I worry about. I call two or three times a day on those days and if she doesn't answer I start to panic which doesn't help the job situation. I have to go back to work tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck, worring if mom is alright, is she sleeping, has she eaten, has she fallen and can't get up. You get my drift. My cousin, who lives 3 hours away has offered to come down and help Monday thru Thursday, which is wonderful but I'm off on those days and she has a husband and 3 children. I'm going to speak w/ one of the social workers at the hosp tomorrow to see if there's any out side available resources that can come to the house and help but I hate having strangers in the house. Thanks for letting me ramble on, I don't know what I'd do w/o everyone here for me to vent. You and everyone else are life savers. Donna, sfy

Donna, I am so sorry to hear she had another bad day today. I just knew I'd see a posting that she was on the mend. Maybe the social worker will have some suggestions for you. Even if it is strangers in the house, at least it will be someone there with her.... Hey, here's a suggestion. Have you thought about asking your church if there is someone that would come sit with her while you were gone? Might be a possibility.... Hope you are able to find a solution soon. Take care and try not to worry. (I know, easier said than done.) Hugs, Susan

It is so hard to reach out and ask for help. I would hate to have anyone in my house as well. Donna honey- you are only human and can only do so much. Get some help. I am pained everytime I leave my mother or talk to her when she isn't doing well. She refuses to allow anyone but her neighbor to come in and help her. I am thankful that Dottie is there. Dottie will call me if she needs me. Sadly, I live 3 hours away. My other siblings live a distance away as well. Hugs to you!

(((Donna))) I know how hard it is to leave a loved one alone for a few hours....What about visiting nurses??? They should be able to come stay while you are at work. How about a neighbor? Could you take a family leave of absence??? I will keep you and your mom in my prayers and thoughts....God be with you!! Hugs Judy
