Just last week my Nut warned me that at six months out she sees most people hit a major stall. Her advice was to be patient, drink plenty of water, keep up the protein, exercize and don't give in and/or up. That's probably not what you were expecting to hear but it is the best I could offer. Hang in there, the weight will begin to go again.

How long have you been stuck Patty? I do have some tips that have worked for me in the past. The best ones are: 1. WATER - drink LOTS - as in 80-100 oz per day. 2. PROTEIN - eat more of it....as in 80-90g per day. 3. EXERCISE - if you aren't, start. If you are, change the routine. 4. LOG YOUR FOOD and FLUID intake. This way you make sure how many calories, protein, fluids, etc you are taking in each day. Important info to know. 5. CHANGE your habits - your eating habits. As in, eat a different variety of foods for a while. I know I get into the habit of eating the same meals over and over. It's like my body gets bored with it after a while. I've found if I change things periodically, it helps get the weight loss moving again. Hope these help!! Susan

HI, Patty!! First off, love the new avatar. Thanks for showing us your new 'do...or is it 'do-less. Your head is not weirdly shaped. You look great. How are you liking being bald? I don't know if I would ever have the balls to do that. YOU GO GIRL!!!! Second...don't get discouraged. Plataus are normal and I'm sure you are losing inches, so don't get upset. It does SUCK!!! No denying that. Here is something I found on another board and I have copied it into my diary in Fitday, so I can always refer back to it when I need it. Hope this helps. Platau Busters Diet 1) Drink ATLEAST 2 quarts (64 oz) of water a day 2) You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamin & mineral supplements each day 3) Consume up to 3 oz. of the following high-protein foods, 5 times a day: ? beef ? pork ? chicken ? turkey ? lamb ? fish ? eggs ? low-fat cheese ? cottage cheese ? plain yogurt or artificially sweetened ? peanut butter ? beans/legumes You may also have: ? sugar free Popsicles ? tea or coffee, decaf, black only ? sugar free sodas ? sugar free Jell-O ? broths and bullions ? Crystal Lite drinks 4) IF IT IS NOT ON THE LIST YOU CANNOT HAVE IT FOR 10 DAYS 5) Keep a food diary and get at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. (In my opinion, I would shoot for more like 80-90 grams of protein and 80 oz of water) Good luck. I hope the scale starts moving for you soon. Let us know how it is going. Hugs, Tabby

Hi Patti, I am stuck too. I am taking some of the advice that was given here. I agree this totally sucks. It is like, that is going on here. I lost little over 5 pounds last month, but I think it was just fluid. I am still going up and down the same few pounds. I am trying not to get upset, but, something has to give soon. I know how you feel. My 6 month appointment is tomorrow, so I am going to talk to my doc and see what he says. Good luck and hang in there, and know that you are not alone. Love and hugs, Sherry
