My 6 month Post-Op Appt was today
Well, I met with my surgeon today and according to their scale I was down 96.2 lbs. I wanted to lose 100 lbs by my 6 month post-op appt, but was just a little shy of that. According to my scale I was 183 today...I was 182 two days ago...which was 100 lbs down. I'll get back down to 182 this weekend. I know it!!!
I knew I would be a little heavier on the scale at the surgeons office becuase of my clothes and the fact that my appointment was at 1:45pm and I had lunch, a protein drink and water before my weigh in. I am pleased that I have lost 96.2 pounds in the past six months and so is my surgeon and his nurse.
My goal has been 165 since the day of my surgery. My surgeon never mentioned a goal to me. Well, today he said that he would like me to lose another 25-30 lbs, which would put me at 155-160 lbs. It may take me another 6 months to get there, but I WILL GET THERE!!!
My labs didn't come in before my appt, so they will call me with the results when they come in. They said that based on my weight loss and that I am taking all of my vitamins and getting in all my protein they didn't expect to see anything unusual in my labs. I feel great, so I'm not concerned about them.
I just got to get back on track with tracking my food, working in my exercise, drinking my water and STAYING AWAY FROM THE KIDS EASTER CANDY!!! I CAN DO THIS!!!
That's my 6 month update. I have some new pics that I am going to try to get on my profile tonight. I tried this morning, but my laptop froze up. I'll try again. Thanks for reading.

Tabby,
what a great report! you are doing wonderfully.... 96.2 pounds is fantastic. stick to your program and you'll reach your goal before you know it! i just tried ice breakers ... sugar free sour candy made by hershey's and have less than 5 calories each. they are absolutely delicious. they might help you deal with those easter basket temptations!!! congratulations on a good six months!!

Thanks, Debbie!!! Tomorrow is a new day. Time to get more strict, again. I might have to pick up some of those Ice Breakers to give them a shot. Those Easter Baskets are very tempting. They got all of my favorites. I need something else to substitute for the chocolate. Thanks for the tip and support.

We are almost the same. I was down 92 pounds at my 6 month check up last week. I would like to lose 11 more pounds (puts me in healthy weight zone using BMI index on this site). My Dr said my ideal weight is 141. I think they have that because I originally measured 5'6" but am now 5'7". How did you pick 165?
Hi, Kim. Yeah, we are really close. I am 5'7" and even when I get to 165 I will be overweight. I have been considering changing that goal lately, so I guess my surgeon made up my mind that I DO need to change my goal. There was nothing scientific about how I chose my goal. I just thought that at 165 I would be thinner than I ever remember being, I would weigh less than my thinnest sister, I should look healthy and not too thin and it was a weight the I thought was achievable. Does that make sense? When I told my PCP my goal was 165, she said that it should be 165-175 for my body type, so I didn't look too thin. I'll do what I can do. I feel pretty good right now at 182, but know I need to lose more. I still have a bit of a belly over my waistband. URGH!!!
Now that you are measuring taller, your ideal weight should be higher. Congrats to you on such a great weight loss and on being so close to your goal. You are doing great!!!
