First let me welcome you the the October forum, you'll find a great bunch of caring, supportive people here. Hope you stay around.
I wish I had an answer for you but I, and I think most everyone here on this forum have had RNY. The reason I opted for RNY is for the very thing you're asking about. You have to constantly go back to the doctor to have the band adjusted based on what you're losing or not losing. With the RNY it's almost a sure bet that you will lose and more that likely keep it off.
I would suggest you try the lap band forum and see what they're experiencing.
Hope this helps.

Hi!! Welcome to the October Board!! Hope to see you posting often.
I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer to you about your question. I had the RNY, so I don't know anything about the Lap Band. I do know there is a board for the Banders though. I'm sure someone there will have an answer for you. Hope you get things worked out soon!! Good luck with it!! And, check in and let us know how you are doing.

hi...what has your surgeon said about your weight loss?? have you talked to him about this at all?? i don't know much about the lapband but you do lose slower with that one. if i were you i would call and ask your surgeon about how you are doing...like if it is normal loss or if you should be doing better....also if you can't eat because it makes you throw up then maybe you need an adjustment on the fill??? please call your dr monday morning and see what he has to say.
good luck and hope you come back and let us know how you are doing!!
hugs judy
I to had the RYN surgery and don't know much about the lapband only that my doctor doesn't like to do the surgery. He says that the band can get too tight sometimes allowing people not to be able to eat. That sounds like something you may be experiencing now. I would think that you should have maybe lost a litttle more than that by now but everyones bodies are different and all the different WLS have different effects. The good thing I guess about your surgery is if you stretch out your pouch you can have it adjusted where if we stretch out we are going to possibly gain weight if we don'****ch what we eat.
If I was you, I would check out the lapband board.....but please stick around with us and let us know how you are doing....we always like new friends to join!

Wish I could offer some words for you, but like everyone else I had RNY. I suggest you look into lapband forum, but please don't be a stranger here. We can all learn from each other no matter what procedure we had.
I was thinking as I read your post that you may just now have thing working the way they should. Keep it up with the soft foods and protein drinks. I wouldn't stop the protein drinks ever. We really need to replace out protein daily.
