Keeping on the Wagon (Easter Edition)

It's a quiet day at work today - no one is here and the phones are not ringing. I have my 1st dress fitting tonight. I am thinking it will need to come in at least 1 full size if not more. Yikes. Here's my plan for today: B: pro-complex and skim milk (I made a little bit more than usual because I know I don't have a lot of options for food here at work - I'm out of lean cuisines and the cafe downstairs is closed - with my boss on vacation for the day I won't be able to sneak out at lunchtime). (I drank 3/4 of it - 31g) S: I just drank the remainder (15g) w/ 1/2 serving of All Bran crackers (1g) L: I have my leftover chinese in the fridge still - probably about 2oz of chicken - I will have to brave the sodium monster and drink extra fluid (15g) S: light string cheese D: The BOY IS COOKING!!!!!!!!! (Steak..yum) (20g) Confessions: Not a confession as much as an AWWWWW moment. Yesterday beat me down big time energywise. I left the gym around 8:30 still short on protein and again..since we at all the leftovers for the week already I was faced with either fast food, another shake (I try to only do one a day) or stopping to pick up something easy on the way home. The Boy told me not to stop and just come home, so I did. When I arrived I was greeted with the most delicious smell. We keep flash frozen tilapia filets (we buy them by the case at Wallmart) on hand....he made one for me. He got creative, and "crusted" it with seasoned salt, loads of pepper and herbs. It was delicious and made it nice coming home. Even if I did eat after 8 (it was alost to 9:30 at that point) - it just tasted so good, I filled up that protein tank. And now he wants to cook again tonight. (wow). Easter strategies: Saturday: We have Easter dinner #1 with friends. She usually uses a lot of prepared foods etc. I will stick with just ham probably as I am sure even the veggies will be saucy and fattening. We are heading to a Wings game tomorrow night, our tickets include a hot dog, a pretzel, and a drink. I will just get the hotdog and ditch the roll, give the boy the rest of the stuff. Sunday: I usually go to breakfast with my gal friends - they go to burger king and I get a "side of eggs" in other words that icky egg omlete thing that they make their sandwhiches out of - it's not appetizing. I decided last week - no more. I plan on making a shake and taking it with me, so I can get some real protein that won't leave me feeling sick to my stomach and keep me from eating well the rest of the day (I usually feel so sick after breakfast on Sundays that I eat almost nothing the rest of the day). We have dinner with The Boys family at 3pm - again, I really want to stick to the meat (ham) and avoid any of the yummy sides. Excercise: Manual labor planned for tomorrow - we are going to help at a "clean-up day" at the camp where I volunteer in the summers. I'm sure it will mean lots of clearing of branches and moving of heavy things. I also have my spinning class in the morning. Does everyone else have a plan for the day / weekend? With Easter and Passover and candy and everything - it gets hard!

Hi Patti!! Sounds like you've got your plan in place for the weekend!! You are so great about advance planning. For me, I don't really have to worry about it. We are far away from family so the only meal I have to worry about is the one I am cooking. And, as I'm cooking it, I have complete control over it, so it will be healthy and I'll be able to eat the things I want (mostly ham and a few veggies). Also, this year, I did not buy tons of candy for the kids. Enough to keep them happy for a few days and none of it is stuff that I LOVE, which also helps. All our really close friends are from this area and are doing things with their extended families, so we don't have those invitations to worry over. WHEW!! Have a good weekend!! Susan
