Update on pain

I called the surgeon's office after the pain in my right side got worse. Apparently, they take this stuff pretty serious. They sent me immediately to have blood drawn. I had an ultrasound. The technician was training someone so she talked the entire time. I knew immediately that I had gall stones because she pointed them out to the trainee. Tim, my husband, had his 3 month appointment so they worked me in with the physician's assistant. I saw Dr. Kemmeter in the hall. He said that I had been the topic of discussion. He asked what the ultrasound showed and said I would need surgery. He almost seemed excited. I asked if he would do the surgery and he said, "Of course!". The only problem is that I have to wait until April 13th (Friday) to have surgery. I'm in pain and the idea of having to wait that long is killing me. I had to have a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia because of this crazy virus I've had for 2 weeks. The PA was very excited about my weightloss. He did my pre-op exam so that I don't have to come back. That was the only good thing that came of this whole thing. It's so strange because my head wants to be excited about my weight loss, but my body's not co-operating. I can't wait to feel better. Jenn

Ask them to put you on a "if anyone cancels" list. maybe they can do the surgery sooner. I hope you feel much better soon. Aime

Jenn, I feel your pain. I am two weeks post op from having my gall bladder removed. It sounds like you are passing a stone. Once it passes you will feel better some jus****ch what you eat. I learned that salad is something to stay away from when you are dealing with your gall bladder or it was for me. I had to wait a week for my surgery and by the time it came I no longer had any pain but I also wasn't eating in fear of the pain returning. Jello and clear liquids were ok oh and my shakes were ok as well. This was the worst pain I had ever had in my life including natural child birth and wouldn't wish is upon anyone. I hope the stone passes so you can feel somewhat better. Keep me posted. Susan

Congrats on your appt today with the PA and them being excited about your weightloss!!! WTG!!! I'm so sorry to hear that you have gall stones. I'm also sorry to hear that you are in more pain. Hopefully there is a cancellation and you can get in sooner. You shouldn't have to wait over 2 weeks for surgery and be in pain all that time. Hang in there, kiddo!!! Hugs and well wishes to you. Jenn, I'm so sorry to hear you are still in so much pain. At least they now know what is causing it and have a plan to do something! I hope there will be a cancellation and you can get in earlier to have this done. Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing! Susan
