Crock Pot : Italian Sausage & Peppers

I did not use Italian Sausage for this I used Benetino's Chicken Sausages for it so it was much lower in fat then what is listed for this recipe... Around 49 grams of fat +/- for the WHOLE POT instead of per serving. Italian Sausages & Peppers The Everyday Low Carb Slow Cooker Cookbook 2 pounds Italian Sausage, cut in half crosswise 3 bell peppers, sliced into 1/2 inch strips 2 medium onions, halved and thinly sliced 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 2 teaspoons olive oil Sour Cream ( optional ) 1. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker crock and toss well to coat vegetables and sausage pieces with the oil and spices. 2. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours. Garnish each serving with a dollop of sour cream, if desired. Approximate Nutritional Content: 6 servings 555 calories 22g protein 4g net carbs 49g fat 115mg chol 1147mg sodium Easy Add-In: Add 1 7 ounce can of sliced mushrooms ( drained ). Approximate Nutritional Content: 6 servings 564 calories 23g protein 5.5g net carbs 49g fat 115mg chol 1149mg sodium Tip: Sausages will not brown in the slow cooker. If you wish for browned sausages, do so in a hot pan before adding to slow cooker. Enjoy!! Felicia =0)
