Anyone Feeling Hungry?

Is anyone having the urge to snack? The last couple of days, I get a bit hungry in the afternoon. Is this normal? Why am I feeling hungry? I will have a bit of popcorn - that really satisifies me, or I will have a piece of beef jerky. (hey it's protein!)

Hi Lisa! I've been having snack attacks lately too. I TRY to drink water and not snack, but sometimes I just have to have something. Like you, I try to have protein, but sometimes I give in and have carbs....usually whole grain tortilla chips with salsa. Takes care of that craving quickly. I have to admit, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having this happen. Susan

Yes, mine coincides with my TOTM. Major snack attacks and hunger that doesn't always quit. I try to reach for healthy options, sugar free yogurt or pudding, something with whole grains to fill me up. I also try not to "graze" when those feeling**** I have the snack and, 30min. later or so - if the feeling hits again I assume it's a signal that I need more fluid and down some water.

Yep, Lisa, I have been feeling hungry, too. I keep Soy Crisps in the house and beef jerky, too. Last night I made popcorn for Nate...one of those single serving bags...and what he didn't eat, I did. Dave was like...why are you eating that? It's not good for you. Yeah, Yeah...I KNOW!!! I have been buying those single serving cottage cheese cups and have been trying to do something like that when I am hungry. Plus the water helps, too. I'm also getting hungry at mealtime and want to pick when I am in the kitchen making dinner. Makes me so mad. Gotta get out of that habit. I don't count that in my meal, which I should. We all need to post our high protein snacks again. Any great finds that we have come across. Whatdya think? Hugs, Tabby

Nope. I am having the worst time remembering to eat at all if anything. Been a real struggle these past couple weeks not being hungry at all. Not a good thing. I am sure its probably normal though. Just don't get into grazing cuz its evil lol. Felicia =0)

I usually eat soy nuts. They fill you up right away and it's protein. I just can't seem to eat enough protein throughout the day.

Lisa, hunger is a funny thing. Sometimes I feel like I can eat everything in site and other days, like today I have to force myself to eat, no hunger what so ever. I beleive it's our body's way of adjusting to the weight loss we're experiencing. When the hunger stricks I either grab something or dring, get a handful of nuts or a couple of pieces of 2% cheddar cheese (protein) and that does the trick. Donna, sfy

You are not alone as you can see Lisa. My problem is that I usually don't start eating anything until about noon. It really depends on my schedule at work and what time I get up in the mornings. I am never hungry for hours after I am up and about. I really think that we get more hungry around that time of the month. Even though I do not have that anymore I still find that things change about once a month so I chalk it up as "it must of been my old cycle?" Like some of the rest of us....I could eat everything in sight if I knew I could and other times I could care less about food. Just grab something with protein or fruit. I also sometimes eat light popcorn at nights.....the dogs and I will share a bag...lol. It helps with the bathroom thing when I get up in the mornings and doesn't seem to effect my weight loss. I never have liked popcorn with tons of butter or salt. Lisa S
