2 funny wow moments
last night brought a host of "wow moments" for me. People who couldn't recognize me etc. Even lots of fantastic notes of encouragement tucked into the cards that were with gifts.
Here are my two favorite both "out of the mouth of babes" more or less.
1. My teenaged niece and one of her friends were hanging out in a different room away from the crowd when I arrived. I struck out to find them. When I walked in the room they both stopped talking looked up at me and after a moment my niece said.. "wow Aunt Patti, um....you look SEXY!" (sigh)
2. My youngest niece (who is 7) was sitting next to her aunt from the other side of her family. She said "Aunt N, why does aunt Patti look different?"
Her aunt said "well, she's lost a lot of weight, so she looks skinnier"
My niece thought about it, turned and studied me (I didn't notice this at all) and said ...
"no, she's not wearing her glasses!"
Don't you just love how little kids see past all the imperfections and see only what they think is the "important stuff?"
