1. What is your best advice/tip to someone considering WLS? To follow the doctor's orders to the letter!! They developed their instructions for a reason - to help their patients to recover and be successful. And, if they differ from another surgeon's there is probably a reason for it...and that's probably because they have seen better results following certain guidelines!!! And, prior to surgery, I tell everyone to take a long hard look at themselves and to determine if they are willing to commit to following the protocol for the rest of their life. This opens their eyes to the fact that they don't just do this for a year and then go back to what they were doing before. It's a life change - forever! I tell them, if they can say YES, then to do the surgery....if they have a maybe or no attitude, I tell them they need to do more research and talk to people and figure out if this is really what is right for them. 2. Were you a cheerleader in high school or college? Yes, I was on our high school squad my sophomore year....but I was an alternate. I did get to cheer 2 football games and 3 basketball games. It was fun. But, not fun enough to want to do it again the next year. LOL 3. What was teh last movie you saw in a theater? Hmmm...probably Flushed Away. It was cute. 4. Do you think you can dance? Did you take lessons or do you have natural talent? Do/did you want to take lessons? What style dance do you do? No...I don't think I'm a good dancer. I look pretty goofy when I dance....I learned to waltz when I was younger (in 6-8th grade PE we learned to do waltz, etc) and feel pretty comfortable with that....but only if I have a great partner to follow. No natural ability at all!!! 5. How old were you when you learned to ride a bike? Hmmmm....wow....that was a long time ago. I think I was 5-6?? It was my brother who taught me how. (He's 8 years older than I am.) I trusted him more than I trusted my Dad.... Made perfect sense then....now I think it's hysterical that I didn't trust my Dad....He would've held on way longer than my brother ever did!!! 6. What wsa the last movie you rented? This weekend we rented Casino Royale, Over the Hedge and The Holiday. 7. Which actors do you think are sexy? Oh wow...there are several. Matthew McConaughey, Brad Pitt, Robert Redford, George Clooney....the list could go on for days... lol 8. What color are your finger nails? Toe nails? Finger nails have clear polish, toes have a pretty coral color. 9. How many languages do you speak? What are they? Engli****ook French in high school and college...but am not fluent by any means. I could probably get around in France with the little I speak...but that would be about it...and it would be a mix of French/English...and I'd be praying the other person spoke English. LOL Living in South Texas, I've picked up a little Spanish...but not as much as I'd like. 10. At what point will you consider your WLS a complete success? When I get to my goal weight. I realize it may not be the weight that my body is happy at though. I think I'll be okay if my body wants to lose a little more....or even gain a little more....But, to me, anything below 130 after my TT is going to be a complete success to me.

1. What is your best advice/tip to someone considering WLS? Hmmmmm....well, I would tell someone to follow their PCP's direct orders. Follow or try to follow the 1200 calorie diet they recommend for the 6 months. Don't just eat whatever you want because you are going to have the surgery. This surgery isn't a quick fix...its a lot of hard work and a major life style change! 2. Were you a cheerleader in high school or college? No 3. What was teh last movie you saw in a theater? Santa Claus 3 4. Do you think you can dance? Did you take lessons or do you have natural talent? Do/did you want to take lessons? What style dance do you do?No, no, no, no. 5. Good Monday morning... 1. What is your best advice/tip to someone considering WLS? to make sure that you are as educated as possible. 2. Were you a cheerleader in high school or college? no, but my son was. he was the first male cheerleader in his hs. he only did it for one year though. his football coach (he was the starting qb), and his baseball coach (he was a catcher) had a fit. 3. What was teh last movie you saw in a theater? last tuesday i went to see "premonition" with my mom. we really liked it. 4. Do you think you can dance? Did you take lessons or do you have natural talent? Do/did you want to take lessons? What style dance do you do? i've been told that my husband and i are good dancers, but i would love to take ballroom dancing when we have the time. we both like to dance. 5. How old were you when you learned to ride a bike? probably about 5 years old. 6. What wsa the last movie you rented? the last movie that we watched at home was "the departed". we don't rent, because i never remember to return them, so when there is one out that we really want to see, we buy it. 7. Which actors do you think are sexy? matthew mcconahey (*sp) has to be my number one. 8. What color are your finger nails? Toe nails? this week they are "marrooned on the subway", but my usual is "chick flick cherry". 9. How many languages do you speak? What are they? just one... english. i can speak a little bit of french, i took it in h.s., and i can get by with my spanish. my housekeeper doesn't speak any english, and we travel to mexico every year. i am also learning hebrew since my future son-in-law is israeli and my daughter is learning quite a bit. my grandchildren will be bi-lingual so i am sure i will pick up a lot of hebrew then. on a side note... the kid's dog that i am keeping for a while is named "lilah tov", which in hebrew means "good night". she is all black, so her name fits her well. although, lately i have been asking them how to say lilah "bad", because she is beginning to chew my carpet!! 10. At what point will you consider your WLS a complete success? i think when i am off of all of my meds and my c-pap machine. and hopefully i will just feel better in general. so far i am off of my bp meds, but still on my cholesterol med, my reflux med, and an anti depressent. i also still use the cpap, and my back and knees and hips still bother me a great deal. i can't wait to feel good!!!

1. What is your best advice/tip to someone considering WLS? DO IT!!! I think if they research doctors and find a great one, that it is a great idea. I want to get some of my doctors business cards to pass out. He is great. 2. Were you a cheerleader in high school or college? Nope, I was a band geek. 3. What was teh last movie you saw in a theater? Before Saturday, I would have said Cars...but Hubby and I had a date night on Saturday and went to see Wild Hogs!!! It was AWESOME!!! Totally funny from beginning to end. 4. Do you think you can dance? Did you take lessons or do you have natural talent? Do/did you want to take lessons? What style dance do you do? I wish I could dance well enough to get by at a wedding or at a nightclub, but I feel like such a freak when I dance and feel like everyone is looking at me. I have taken line dancing lessons. That is fun. 5. How old were you when you learned to ride a bike? I have no idea. Probably 4 or 5 6. What wsa the last movie you rented? I have Netflix and see new movies all the time. Last week I saw "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. 7. Which actors do you think are sexy? Matthew McConnehey (however you spell it) 8. What color are your finger nails? Toe nails? I don't paint my finger nails. It chips too fast with how much my hands are in water. My toenails are painted a burgundy color right now. I painted Meg's the same color and now I can't wear footed jammies on her because she can't see them. She strips as soon as she wakes up so she can see them. Also pulls her socks off all day long so she can see them and show them to people. 9. How many languages do you speak? What are they? I have had some spanish, but can't speak it fluently. 10. At what point will you consider your WLS a complete success? Honestly I consider it a success right now. I have lost 95 lbs and am healthier and playing with the kids more now. Lots more energy and lots less pain. That to me is a success story. I would like to say that I would consider it a success if I got to my goal weight and stayed there atleast 3 years, but 3 years isn't really long enough for me to consider it a success. If my life is prolonged because of the surgery, it is a complete success. Who knows.
