12 inches gone but not forever...hehe

My daughter just got home from the hair dressers. She has cut 12 inches from her hair and is donating it to wigs for kids with cancer. She has not had her hair cut since senior kindergarten and is now in grade 6. Her hair is still down to her shoulder blades. She was a little nervous but very excited to be doing this and I am soooo proud of her! Cancer has touched all of our lives is so many different ways and this is a little way to help a child torn apart by Cancer. My day has been brightened!!! Tara

Aw, that is so sweet! It's nice for kids to know how much their sacrifice means to someone in need. Both of my girls make a job of growing their hair out to donate. They have each donated twice. My oldest just had 10 inches taken off. Their hair grows super fast so they can spare it. Your daughter will feel good about this for the rest of her life

Tara, That is just too great! I watched a show on TV today where they were donating hair to Locks of Love. It was awesome! What a great job you have done raising your daughter to know how important it is to be giving! Great job for her and great job for yo! Melissa

How wonderful that your daughter is already giving to others! That's a sign of a good Mom, too! I have had long hair all my life and have donated a few times. I am still losing post-op hair, so my hair is not as thick as it used to be. Too bad I can't donate what is in the shower drain! Ev
