QOTD - Thursday

Good morning October Babies!!! Hope everyone is having a fantabulous day! I am hoping to get together with my friend Catie for coffee this morning, but so far she hasn't confirmed. I LOVE my Thursday morning coffee time at Starbucks with her. It's nice to sit down face to face with someone who has had the surgery and chat for a while. But....on to the questions.... 1. What picture is on your mousepad? 2. What is your computer wallpaper? 3. What are you wearing today? 4. When was the last time you bought clothes? Do you need new ones again? 5. Did you have to file an appeal to get WLS? Or were you approved the first try? 6. Have you turned on the AC this year? When? 7. Do you save your spare change? Do you roll it and ca**** in? How often? Do you use it for anything special? 8. Were you a Girl Scout or Boy Scout when you were younger? (I know we've got some guys lurking, come out of hiding and participate!!!!) 9. Being honest, everyone has OCD tendencies towards something. What is ONE of yours? 10. We decided yesterday that every rose has it's thorn. Well, all colors of roses have meanings. I didn't go back and answer yesterday's QOTD, so I decided I'd better do this now before I forget again. LOL 1. What picture is on your mousepad? It is from the San Antonio zoo and has wild animals on it. Very cute. 2. What is your computer wallpaper? It's something my dh d/l. It's a calendar and the picture changes periodically. 3. What are you wearing today? Right now I have on sweatpants, a t-shirt and my white 3/4 sleeve sweater and slippers. However, when I get ready for the day I'll probably wear my khaki capri pants and my hunter green cotton shirt with my light tan sandals with 2 inch heels (will only put those on when leaving the house. Inside I'll have my slippers on still.) 4. When was the last time you bought clothes? Do you need new ones again? Last time I actually purchased clothing for me was last fall when I was still working. Fortunately, I have had enough clothes in smaller sizes that I didn't have to buy any just yet. However, when I go down one more size, I will have to go buy new things!!! WHERE are all the sales???? 5. Did you have to file an appeal to get WLS? Or were you approved the first try? I was fortunate that I was approved with no problems. But, as I knew my insurance benefits thoroughly due to my job, I already knew I met all the criteria and even advised the surgeons office on how to word the request so it would be approved with no problems. They still call me when they have a question on my particular insurance!! 6. Have you turned on the AC this year? When? Yes, we've been using our AC since late Feb/early March. Although there have been a couple of times we've had to use the heat. 7. Do you save your spare change? Do you roll it and ca**** in? How often? Do you use it for anything special? Yes, I save it all thru the year, then in mid December I roll it and ca**** in. Then we use the money to go out for our anniversary on Dec. 21. It's so close to Christmas that we're usually out of "extra" money so saving the change all year long lets us have a guilt free nice meal out together. This is something I started our first year of marriage and have continued to do every year since. I always smile when I empty the change out of my purse and put it in our container because it makes me focus on our marriage and what a wonderful hubby I have. 8. Were you a Girl Scout or Boy Scout when you were younger? (I know we've got some guys lurking, come out of hiding and participate!!!!) I was a Brownie for one year. Dropped out after that. The Girl Scouts in my small town were VERY clique-ish and I wasn't part of it. Had a miserable time that year. 9. Being honest, everyone has OCD tendencies towards something. What is ONE of yours? I have MANY that I try not to impose on the rest of the family. One of the ones I just do and don't say anything about is how the plates are stacked in the cabinet. I have 4 different sets of daily use dishes. I stack them according to pattern. They just take them out of the dishwasher and put them in the cabinet. When I see this, I have to take them out and restack properly. It's so much easier to set the table properly!!! They also just grab out 6 plates and set the table regardless of pattern! UGH!!!!!! I could go on.... 10. We decided yesterday that every rose has it's thorn. Well, all colors of roses have meanings. If you were a rose, which color would you be and why? Briefly explain. I would be a yellow rose because it means friendship and I like to believe I'm not only a friendly person but that I'm a good friend. Plus, as I'm living in TX, I'm the boards official "yellow rose of TX"....Okay, so that was cheesy, but I couldn't resist.

1. What picture is on your mousepad? It's a painting by my favorite artist, Barbara Lavelle. She is an Alaskan artist - her paintings mostly depict children engaged in traditional Alaskan type activities, this one has a family on a dogled. 2. What is your computer wallpaper? The Boy and I in a red corvette - the picture was taken at the Philadelphia Auto Show last month. 3. What are you wearing today? Tan pants, a short sleeve sweater with beige, olive and yellow stripes and a square neck. 4. When was the last time you bought clothes? Do you need new ones again? Hmmmm, about 2 weeks ago I went to Goodwill and boughs 3 bags of stuff, then a coworker gave me several bags of clothes. I bought a couple of tops and a skirt at an outlet that day too. So I guess I'm good for now. I ended up with 6 big black trashbags of clothes (most where spring) - and I only spent about $60. As far as needing new clothes. Yes, actually, I do..I have nothing decent to wear on the honeymoon, no nice dress, no nice clothes, no, um.....other things one would want to wear on a honeymoon. It depresses me that I will need to spend money on things I will only be wearing for a month or so. 5. Did you have to file an appeal to get WLS? Or were you approved the first try? I was approved 1st try. 6. Have you turned on the AC this year? When? AC? Are you KIDDING? It's still cold here. (though it is getting warmer). 7. Do you save your spare change? Do you roll it and ca**** in? How often? Do you use it for anything special? I spend it. I live off of the money I earn teaching piano (I cash the checks and use that instead of hitting an ATM) - so on a week that it might take me longer to get to the bank with the checks I am usually scraping the change off the bottom of the purse. 8. Were you a Girl Scout or Boy Scout when you were younger? (I know we've got some guys lurking, come out of hiding and participate!!!!) Nope. 9. Being honest, everyone has OCD tendencies towards something. What is ONE of yours? Leaving the house on time. I hate to think I might be late - it makes me feel sick. The boy teases me. I make sure to tell him to the exact minute what time I think we should leave the house to get somewhere. 10. We decided yesterday that every rose has it's thorn. Well, all colors of roses have meanings. If you were a rose, which color would you be and why? Briefly explain. Pink - thats the color of my naturally "rosey" (read rosacea) cheeks.

In reply to your answer on #6....NO, I am not kidding. It's been in the 70s here since late Feb/early March. There was one day it was in the 90's and we've had a few days in the mid to upper 80s. So.....want to move to South Texas??? I've got a house I'll sell you in June (read when school is out and we can move to our next duty station). Susan

My sister lives just outside of Dallas (in Terrel) - I am sure she would LOVE if I moved to Texas, unfortuntely we both have jobs here - and finding new ones is always such a pain.

I agree, moving and getting a new job is a PITA! But, moving to TX would be soooo worth it.... Susan

What picture is on your mousepad? It is blue with water droplets on it. I need a new one though. 2. What is your computer wallpaper? It is Charlie Brown and Snoopy sitting on a dock fishing. 3. What are you wearing today? Started out in sweats but got to hot and put a short sleeved shirt on to go and clean the car. Now I have blue slacks and a pink V neck shirt on to go out shopping and to the chiropractors in a bit. 4. When was the last time you bought clothes? Do you need new ones again? Bougtht some a couple of weeks ago for work but now need new ones. Then too I have discovered I have no bummy clothes to wear around the house now that it is getting warmer. 5. Did you have to file an appeal to get WLS? Or were you approved the first try? Got denied twice and then switched surgeons and was approved within 24 hours. That stupid 6 month diet exercise thing held me up. 6. Have you turned on the AC this year? When? Nope, not warm enough yet here in the north. 7. Do you save your spare change? Briefly explain. Yellow Rose. Its my favorite flower. It makes me smile when I see the bright colors. You just cant have a bad day when you get a yellow rose.

Jeans and a light green top that says it's a size 16/18 but I know it's bigger, lol. Another WLS friend gave it to me. 4. When was the last time you bought clothes? I bought 4 new bras last week. 2 for now and 2 for later since they were having a buy 2 get 2 sale. Do you need new ones again? I desperately need new jeans. 5. Did you have to file an appeal to get WLS? Or were you approved the first try? I had to file an appeal which took about 4 months longer. 6. Have you turned on the AC this year? Heck No! I live in Michigan. When? 7. Do you save your spare change? Yes Do you roll it and ca**** in? yes How often? about ever 6 months. Do you use it for anything special? We buy something for the family with it. 8. Were you a Girl Scout or Boy Scout when you were younger? (I know we've got some guys lurking, come out of hiding and participate!!!!) Because I think they are the prettiest.
