Yet another doctor

I'm beginning to think that my PCP is not happy unless he has me running from one specialist to another. I saw an Endocrinologist yesterday. I really liked him. He was very patient, took his time, and was extremely encouraging about my wl. I was sent to see him because I have a diagnosed benign tumor on my adrenal gland. It was found a few years ago. Apparently, it made some changes according to a recent CT scan I had. This doctor doesn't think it is an issue, but he is running some tests to be certain of that and some other things. So- off to be poked and prodded even more. I have to have a sonogram of my thyroid. I have to do a 24 hour urine test. I have to take some pill at midnight- (will need a wake up call for that- and then get blood work done prior to 8:30 am the next morning. Oh- it also seems I may have grown. I have been 5' my entire adult life. When they measure my height, I was 5' 1.5". Now how does one grow an inch and a half after age 20 especially when they stopped growing at age 16. I really wish these doctors would stop trying to find a problem. I want to be healthy!!!! Aime

Good luck, Aime! And if you find out how that sudden growth spurt works, let me know...I wouldn't mind adding a couple inches in that direction Lisa

I agree, it seems to me that for years doctors attributed all our health issues to obesity, now that we are loosing weight they want to find something wrong. I also am with you - it would be nice to be able to say "look at me, I have absolutely no health issues now" and get up every morning and go forth without swallowing a handful of pills ( vitamins and supplements no problems, but please no more actual medications)! I will be thinking of you as you go through these tests that the doctors discover you are in fact 100% healthy! (and yes - if you find the secret to the growth spurt thing - send it along - I could use an inch or so).

my theory is that maybe a person stands taller after weightloss cos the boobies and tummy went smaller, so less weight in front dragging oneself down? alternatively, we weigh less, so less force of gravity

Oh, good luck, Aime!!! I hope that they discover that nothing is wrong and LEAVE YOU ALONE!!! I'm sending you Prayers and Positive Thoughts. Congrats on the height gain. I'm actually wanting to re-measured. I always thought I was 5'8" and lately have been measuring 5'7". I want to be 5'8" so that when I reach my weightloss goal I will be average, rather than still being overweight. That extra 1.5 inches will help lower your bmi. Hee Hee. Hugs, Tabby

AIME, I WISH YOU LUCK W/ THE SONOGRAM OF YOUR THYROID. HOPEFULLY EVERYTHING WILL COME BACK NEGATIVE. JUST BE THANKFUL THAT YOU HAVE A CONCERNED PCP. HE COULD HAVE BLOWEN THIS OFF AS SO MANY OTHERS DO WHEN THEY HAVE A WOMAN PT. A LOT OF THEM FEEL THAT WE DO EMOTIONAL SELF DIAGNOSIS WHEN WE HEAR OR SEE SOMEONE ELSE W/ SOMETHING SIMILAR. BELIEVE ME I KNOW THIS FOR FACT, I WORK W/ DOCTORS ON A DAILY BASIS IN MY HOSP. AND THIS IS A RECURING THEME OF THEIRS. MAKES ME CRAZY PRAYERS BEING SENT UP TO HEAVEN FOR YOU . DONNA, SFY
