Update on Deanne
Hi everyone,
Well, I talked with Joe again this evening. He sounded better and was able to talk today a little more in depth. Here is what I found out.
As you all know, they found the blockage in her colon and after analyzing the tissue samples they found out it was cancer. When they did surgery, they found it was all thru her colon and had moved up into her lower intestine and had also invaded the kidneys. According to the doctors, it is a very fast moving cancer that they can't cure. They have spoken with the doctors today about doing chemo therapy. But, she won't be starting that for at least a month as she needs to heal from this surgery first. Right now she is in ICU with no phones allowed, so as long as she is there Joe is my main line of info. He did say that they are hoping she will be moved to a regular room sometime tomorrow or the next day. The doctor expects her to be in the hospital for at least another week.
I told him of all the love, well wishes, prayers and positive thoughts that are being sent her way by all of you. He was very grateful and overwhelmed at the love being shown to them right now. I asked him about sending cards to Deanne and he thinks she will really enjoy that.
He said they are "all set for now" when I asked if there was anything we could do for them. However, I know the prayers and positive thoughts are really appreciated by them both.
Hope I've managed to get answers to everyones questions. I tried to remember what you all wanted to know. I'll be talking with them again in a day or two. I told Joe I would try not to bombard them with phone calls until Deanne was more up to talking and ready to chat with a friend. When I talk to them again, I'll let you all know.
Susan
Thank you so much for the update, Susan. I'm so glad that we have someone on the board that is able to get information for us. It would suck if we didn't know what was going on with her and have someone to send all of our love and well wishes through. My heart goes out to her family and I pray that she has the strength to fight the fight. This is such a hard road ahead of them and I am constantly thinking of them. This is just so sad.
I will definately be picking up so cards this weekend to get out to her so she knows how much she is loved.
Thanks again, Susan...
Hugs,
Tabby
Thanks so much for keeping us posted Susan. I can't believe this is happening to poor Deanne. My heart goes out to her. With all the problems I am having here at home with my son seems like "small potatoes" compared to what Deanne is facing. I pray she will have a miracle recovery. God works in strange ways. If we all pull together I am sure we can get her threw this.

Thanks, Susan.
It's hard to believe that the same Universe that sets the sun to shining and the birds to singing could have such a perverse sense of humor.
If we wanted to send flowers to the hospital, will she be there awhile still? I guess that has to wait till she's out of ICU... What and where (city, state) is the hospital?
