UPDATE ON DEANNE!!!

Ok I am probably going to get some of these wrong at least in spelling lol. Here surgeon was out of town yesterday and today but will be back tomorrow. She said she is getting great care though. They did the CAT scan yesterday and found fluid by her colon so they did a colonoscopi (sp?) and have found that she has a bowel obstruction. So the surgeon that is on call now is supposed to be in, in an hour or so to update her on what they want to do about it. They will either have to do surgery or wait and see if it goes away on its own but I think we all know ( and Deanne agreed ) that after this long there is no way its going to just go away. So that is where her status is sitting right now. She will let us all know how she is doing when she has something to update. Susan I gave her your number!! She send much love to everyone and says she can just feel the good thoughts and prayers that are being said for her. I will update more as I know it. *huggles* Felicia =0)

So is this a totally different problem than the one that she was having or is it the same. I thought she has had to be going in and having her opening from the stoma enlarged. Is that now fixed and this is something different? I am so confused......Any help would be appreciated in trying to understand this.Of course send her my love and prayers. Later.....Gay

Hi Gay. I asked Deanne about this. Turns out they THOUGHT it was a stricture, but it wasn't. So....all those EGDs were for NOTHING. The problem has apparently been in her colon the entire time and they didn't find it till now. The doctor said this is not related to her WLS...so that may be what took them so long to figure it out. Hi Susan Poor Deann! I feel terrible for that poor girl for all she's had to endure all of these months. I still don't understand how a bowel obstruction IS NOT related to our WLS? By them re-routing our intestines, isn't that all tied in with our bowels? Forgive me for sounding dumb, but I just dont buy the idea that it's not wls-related and something to be concerned about for all of us. Send my love and well wishes to Deann! Michelle
