Just spoke with Tiffany...
Her appt is today at 4pm PST. She stated that her doctor told her that if they see something they will schedule an appointment to have it taken care of. Nothing like DRAGGING THIS OUT!!! I feel so bad that her insurance handles things this way. Hopefully she won't have to wait much longer. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
She wanted me to tell everyone that she said Hi and that she hopes to get back on the board soon. She can't get on at work and is so tired by the time that she gets home that she is in bed by 7:30 every night. : bed: Hopefully once she can start eating better she will have more energy in the evening.
Just wanted to update you on Tiff.
Hugs to all,
Tabby
I know what you are talking about. I have UPMC, too. Actually, I work for UPMC, so of course that's what insurance I have. Everything has been smooth as butter!!! I found out when paying one of my bills for like the dietician or something not covered, that if you call and pay off your bill by phone, they sometimes give you a discount if you ask. I even had a bill for $15 that I asked if I got a discount for paying it off by phone and the girl was like "It'll only take $2 and change off" and I told her every penny counts when you have several bills you are paying.
Things have been smooth as butter with the insurance through this whole process. I have loved it. I'm sure it won't be as easy when I try for plastics, but we'll see.
Dave is doing great. Went back to work yesterday and worked a full day. Was feeling pretty good. He even got up 1/2 hour early and walked on the treadmill. What a guy!!! He didn't walk this morning because I had just finished work and wanted to go to sleep (I only get like two - three hours of sleep after work on Thursdays before the kids wake up) and the treadmill is in a room off of our bedroom, so it would have kept me awake. He said he will walk when he gets home.
Thanks for asking....by the way...You look awesome in your new avatar. LOVE IT!!! Keep up the great work.
Hugs,
Tabby
Thanks for the update on Tiff!! I've been wondering about how she's doing. Poor girl.
I wonder if it's the insurance that is dragging their heels or if it's her PCP's office not doing things in a timely manner. I know from experience (worked in healthcare - REFERRALS for 3 years) that most referrals were just a matter of the doctor's office either calling, faxing or requesting via the internet to get an approval. I got most approvals within MINUTES. Some I had to wait a total of 2 days for. The thing that was hardest was scheduling the appts for testing once I got the referral. Then I was at the mercy of the other facility. But, if it was an emergency or was something that needed immediate attention, I could usually get an appt within a few days. NEVER had to wait weeks like Tiff is having to do. Anyway...just frustrated for her, poor girl.
Give her my next time you talk to her!!
Susan
