Cross Your Fingers For Me!!!
I can't believe I just did what I did.
I am an Extreme Makeover Home Edition NUT! Last year they were in Philadelphia (a good 45 min. drive from my house) doing a home. I drove up 3 times (all late at night) and stood outside watching. I walked around the block watching from all angles, even sought out "the bus". I volunteered to help out, but hey, it was Philadelphia, there was hype all over and the volunteer slots filled up quickly.
This morning I heard a tiny blurb that the "team" was back in the area. This time a county out in the burbs, so it didn't get much coverage. they just mentioned they were there. I spent an hour searching online this afternoon and finally tracked down the details, including the name of the builder on the project. I went to the website and...
THEY STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS! Ok, so they only need them for the 12am to 6am shifts for the week, but what the heck? The new me doesn't need sleep right? I sent and e-mail and asked them to consider me.
Now, my fingers are crossed, it would be a dream come true to do anything (even wield a broom) to help on the set of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It would be an even bigger dream to meet Ty (though he usually isn't physically there at the projects after demolition day..he leaves and returns for the revel..but you're not supposed to know that).
Cross your fingers for me, this could be the most exciting way to celebrate my 100lb weight loss EVER!
I've got my fingers crossed for you. That would be so cool for you. One of the gals on my Ivillage pregnancy grad boards got to be a volunteer when they were in her town. Even has the blue shirt to prove it. She said it was fun, but VERY LOUD all week with Ty doing all of the yelling through the bullhorn and with the machinery all week long. It will be airing in the next couple of weeks. Can't wait to see it. I DVR Extreme Makeover: Home Edition EVERY WEEK!!! Love the show.
I hope all works out for you and that you get to celebrate your 100lb loss by helping build a dream home. That would be awesome.
Hugs,
Tabby
