SF Sauce?
Anyone have a recipe for a bbq sauce that doesn't call for sugar or honey or the like?
How about any other sauce that works with chicken?
Before surgery, I only ate white meat, but that doesn't go down as well any more. I've been eating chicken legs, but find them rather boring, so would appreciate any new ideas.
Thanks.
Lisa
Not really a BBQ sauce but yummy just the same :
Asian Sauce
1 1/2c water
2/3c soy sauce
4 slices fresh ginger
1 leek, cut up
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 or 3 dried red chili pepeprs
1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
Bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 mins to combine.
Another one :
Spicy BBQ Sauce
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce
1/8 teaspoon celery seeds
1/8 teaspoon salt
Bring to boiling then turn down and simmer for 5-10 mins.
Not really a BBQ sauce but yummy just the same :
Yakitori Sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sherry
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
Bring to boiling then turn down and simmer for 5-10 mins.
I just basically made these up from recipes I loved the taste of but wanted to use the flavor on different things. I add a packet or 2 of Splenda when I am looking for a sweet taste.
Good luck!!

Oh you can buy SF BBQ sauce also. =0)
I don't have a recipe for sauce....but if you use splenda, you can substitute it for sugar in any recipe you have...and use lower carb alternatives of catsup, etc. There are always alternative ways to make things WLS friendly.
If you have a recipe and need help with it, send it to me and I'll see what I can do to help you alter it.
