Tried something today....

Flipping through the channels this weekend I came across a woman who was talking about nutrition and her idea was to "eat in reverse"...basically, dinner first, then lunch etc..... this is taking into account that breakfast is "minimal" for most Americans (toast and coffee....cereal, etc). That is not how I have been eating....I've been eating forward..... light breakfast of maybe a piece of cheese etc....eating normal lunch, etc...going like crazy in the evenings and coming home at 9pm to realize I'm still 20g short of my 60g protein goal and then packing in as much as I can with a late dinner and going right to bed feeling, well..stuffed. So today, I have eaten in reverse. B:lean meat spaghetti sauce (no pasta w/ it - leftover from a dinner I made this weekend)....packed with lots of lean ground beef and topped with cheese (15g of protein)...also has mushrooms, peppers and onions in it. S: 15g protein shake L: Garlic beef lean cuisine (just the meat and 2 small broccoli florets (15g) S: 1/2 of an atkins protein bar (10g) So here I am at 5pm and already almost to goal. I have the other 1/2 of the protein bar in my bag to eat before the gym for another 10g and I am done eating early enough to allow my metabolism to do its thing and not going to bed feeling like a stuffed pig. Wish me luck..I'll let you know if it makes a difference on the scale.

Patricia, I have seen that lady also and I think she may have something there. She certainly seems healthy and had lost a lot of weight doing that. It seems logical to eat heavier in the morning and have the entire day to work it off and then eat light at night. Of course every meal for us is light, but you know what I mean. Good luck with it. Sounds like a plan.......Gay

That's an interesting concept. Please let us know how it works and how you feel. And, especially if you are hungry at night.... Here's my problem, I'm eating forward (as you put it) and actually managing to get in most of my needs with my meals and protein drinks. But, in the evening I'm wanting to snack. Maybe because my family is snacking...maybe it's head hunger....maybe I'm not eating enough calories?? Anyway, I've been "bad" and had some snacks along with them. Not HUGE amounts like before, but still snacking. After eating a little snack (like one hand of potato chips with a little dip or 2 hands of popcorn) I'm satisfied and don't eat anymore - don't even WANT anymore. But, I've noticed I'm not losing....I'm also not gaining. I'm just stalled. However, the inches are going. Not sure if this is a "normal" stall or if it's due to my snacks....or if it's a combo of both. Any ideas of what I can do to STOP this INSANITY?????? What's crazy is...I'm actually feeling better since I've been having the small snack at night. Maybe I'm needing the calories and carbs????? What do you guys think? Are you having these problems too? Or am I Susan
