Birthdays and Surgery...

I was just looking over the list for the March Card Exchange and I was surprised to see how many of us had our surgeries so close to our birthdays!! Holly

Yeah, I sure was close for mine. Birthday the 10th, surgery the 12th. What a great gift I got. You had a good drive for your surgery as I see you live in Oil City and used Dr. Corcolous. Where did she operate out of ? I was trying to use the Dr. Awais in her group but could not get approval from insurance. They seemed to think that it was my PCP's job to do everything and they didn't know squat, so it all fell through. Then I found Dr. Quinlin who works out of St. Margaret's. They were so helpful and really worked with me. I hear so many wonderful things about your surgeon too. Have a good one.........Gay

My b-day is the 1st and my surgery was on the 10th! I did have a drive -- almost 2 hours and the ride home after surgery seemed to have 200 hours! LOL....Dr. Courcoulas is wonderful! I had my surgery at Shadyside....Wow, I am really surprised about the doctor you wanted to use! Holly

HEY HOLLY, I NOTICED THE SAME THING THE OTHER DAY. MY BIRTHDAY IS OCT. 4th AND I HAD MY SURGERY ON OCT. 13th (FRIDAY THE 13th) MY WAY OF THINKING WAS THIS: I USUALLY GIVE MYSELF A BIRTHDAY GIFT EACH YEAR. THIS IS SOMETHING I STARTED YEARS AGO AFTER SEEING MY FATHER DO THE SAME THING. SO LAST YEAR INSTEAD OF A PAIR OF PANTS, A NEW BLOUSE OR A PAIR OF EARRINGS I FIQURED I DO SOMETHING HEALTHY FOR MYSELF. I SCHEDULED THIS SURGERY. IT'S THE BEST GIFT I'VE GIVEN MYSELF IN YEARS. JUST THINK, IT SOMETHING I'LL ALWAYS HAVE AND I CAN'T RETURN IT TO THE STORES. DONNA, SFY

SUSAN, AS I SAID, GIVING MYSELF A BIRTHDAY GIFT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS, EVER SINCE THE FIRST TIME I SAW AND HEARD MY DAD DO THIS. HE CON'T TO GIVE HIM SELF A GIFT UP UNTILL HE PASSED AWAY OVER 36 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS 15. EVER SINCE THEN I'VE ALSO DONE IT. IT STARTED OUT W/ SMALL THINGS, AN 8 TRACK TAPE (I'M SHOWING MY AGE BY TELLING YOU THAT.) A PAIR OF SNEAKERS, A MASSAGE OR A FACIAL, UP TILL 2005 WHEN IT STARTED TO GET EXPENSIVE, I BOUGHT A PAIR OF DIAMOND EARINGS. REMEMBER, I'M SINGLE SO I JUST HAVE MYSELF TO WORRY ABOUT.
