Fiber question
I don't take any additional fiber.. I have read where there are lots of people taking lots of things. I take 1 Colace every night before bed ( WITHOUT the laxative stimulant added ). I have been as regular as clock work since day 1 lol. I eat lots of veggies so I am not to worried about needing more fiber right now.

I need to eat more veggies...but I have trouble eating more than my protein. My pouch is simply too small. I couldn't even eat all my dinner tonight and it wasn't that much! 2 oz of fajita meat and 2 oz of raw onions and peppers that I sauted. I ate the meat and had to leave over half the veggies. I checked my fiber intake in Fitday and so far today I've barely gotten 5 grams of fiber!! I know I need more than that! UGH....
Can you tell me about the colace? Is it liquid, a pill or a chewable? Is it yucky?? LOL I didn't know they made it without the laxative.... Guess I need to go stand in front of the fiber section and do lots of reading. Tried to today, but the alarm went off on my phone alerting me that it was time to pick up the kids from school, so I had to check out and go in a hurry....

Its a little tiny gel type pill. Super easy to take. All it is, is a stool softener. So no worrying about having to be near a bathroom lolol. Its safe enough for even children over the age of 2. Only thing that I found that it interacts with is if you are taking mineral oil ( ew ). For the first 2 months I took 2 a day and I am now down to 1 a day. I probably could drop it completely but I just don't want to have to deal with getting plugged up at all especially since we are quite a ways from getting enough fiber in from food. I figure pop a pill or have to deal with that fiber stuff you have to mix in things ( annoying).
I got it at walmart. Its about 7 or 8 bucks a bottle I think for 60.

I am in the same boat as you! Colace- was on that since day 1 postop, and it just stopped working; then I had that major constipation episode 2 weeks ago, where I wanted to die; since then, I've added a bit more fruits into my diet, berries in particular; can get them in with my yogurt; I have also bought the Fiber One oats & chocolate bars - it has some fiber, more than I get, and they're yummy; only 2grams of protein, but I make up for my protein elsewhere, I needed the fiber; but I also take something now called Colon Clenz for Regularity; this has helped substantially. It was approved by my Nut. It's all herbal. Not cheap, but let me tell you, it's working. I have such a hard time getting in veggies and protein; So unless I get in all my protein during the day, then at dinner I'll have a nice salad, but still, not much fiber in that. This part is just hard for me. I also have purchased Fiber Sure powder, and add that to my morning protein shake, every little bit is that much more fiber I never got before.
Colace is like a little gel cap pill. No taste whatsoever.
I take one dulcolax stool softener a day. When that doesn't make me "move" I take two. I just put them in my evening pill box. That way I know I am getting them. I haven't paid any attention to my fiber intake with Fitday. guess I should pay attention to that.
