Wow, did I slip

Wow, what a terrible afternoon food wise. This is the first time I can actually say that I have cheated or back slided into old habits. I spent the day preparing food for my daughters birthday dinner. It is a fondue and I was preparing things for about a dozen different dippers and 4 differnt kinds of sauce. I found myself tasting everything. Eating a small piece of ham, tasting the zesty beef meat balls, pineapple chunk, the horseradish sauce, the creamy mustard sauce,****tail sauce, eating a piece of cheese for the cheese balls and then it came to the dessert. The homemade ice cream cake. I ate a chunk of the peanut butter in the chocolate ice cream. That on the bottom of the pan with crushed oreos on top, which of course I had a taste of, then licked the knife from the hot fudge sauce. I couldn't get wait to get away from all that food. I still have another layer of the cake to make and the icing and then even tomorrow I will be working with more of the ingredients. I hated feeling out of control like that. I know it would have been a lot worse before and I did have some self control but not enough. I made the entire Thanksgiving dinner and was not tempted, made close to a dozen different cookies at Christmas and never ate a one and here today I found myself cheating. Getting tougher with each day as I have been so lucky I have not been tempted like I was today. Well, it is behind me and I have to move on to a better night and a good day tomorrow. Just had to grumble, thanks for listening.......Have a nice evening.......Gay

I wouldn't worry about it. At least you saw what you did and can better prepare for next time. My guess is that even though you "slipped" it is no where near like what a "slip" used to look like *grin*. *hugs* Chin up, tomorrows a better day!! *huggles* Felicia =0) PS Drink a shake before you start cooking lol the protein will help fill you up!

Hey, Gay...don't stress over it. You said youself "I know it would have been a lot worse before and I did have some self control..." It is hard to be around food not matter what. I did the same thing getting ready for Meg's party. It is LIFE!!! It happens and tomorrow is a new day. You know what you did and you controlled it. A taste here and there is better than binging on EVERYTHING!!! You did great. Don' beat yourself up. Hope you enjoy the party. Fill up on the protein items. A little taste of cake is not going to kill you or put back on all of the weight you have lost. You may see a stall for a few days, but you will be OK. YOU ARE IN CONTROL!!! We are all learning to use this tool to have a better life and we are all going to have parties in our lives. Hugs to you... Tabby

Hey there sweetie!! Ya know....you said you slipped...but it really didn't sound that way to me. You said you TASTED...to me, that means you took a bite. One bite isn't that bad. Now, if you'd had a whole piece of cake, a bowl of the ice cream, etc., well.......we just won't go there!!! So, now you know you want a taste. Make sure it's a tiny one and don't beat yourself up over it. When it's party time, stick to your proteins and enjoy spending time with your family!! After all, you already know what it tastes like...who needs to try it again, right?? Oh and maybe before you cook the rest of it you can eat first so you aren't tempted?? Just a thought.... Hugs....and remember tomorrow is another day! Love ya!! Susan

Big hugs!! I can not add anything special that the others have not already said . Do not worry so much and at least you noticed it now and not after you gain weight back later on. Hang in there!! Do not beat yourself up badly. Hugs~~ Deanne
