OK, I am stupid, what is an EGD? I know it is not good and I know Deanne has been having trouble eating, which is not good. So to Deanne, I send my love and prayers to you, hoping all went well and you are on the mend and back to "normal" real soon. Hugs......Gay

HEY GAY, I JUST LOVE SAYING THAT, IT HAS SUCH A RING TO IT. NO HONEY YOU'RE NOT STUPID. AN EGD IS AN ESOPHAGOGASTROSCOPY, IT'S WHERE THE SURGEON TAKES A SCOPE, GOES DOWN THE ESOPHAGUS (food tube), LOOKS AROUND AT THE STOMACH AND STRETCHES THE ESOPHAGUS. THE D STANDS FOR DILATATION WHICH MEANS TO STRETCH. ALOT OF TIMES ONE OF THE SET BACKS FROM THIS SURGERY IS A STRICTURE, A NARROWING OF THE ESOPHAGUS. THIS STRICTURE DOES NOT ALLOW "NORMAL"FOOD TO PASS EASILY BUT LIQUIDS PASS JUST FINE, DONNA, SFY
