Greatest WOW moment so far...
So I have this cute skirt that I had been waiting a long time to try on, at my heaviest I was a size 24 and the skirt is a size 18, so yesterday I decided to try it on since I gave most of my clothes away cause they were huge now, so I put on this skirt and it literally fell off!! I guess I'm now a size 16 and I had not notices I think because I've been wearing a belt and I have not really gone shopping cause according to me I wanted to trim down at least 4 sizes, I GUESS I'M THERE!!! I feel great!!
Congrats! (too bad about the skirt though - don't you hate it when you "miss a size"?)
The same thing happened to me this weekend. Several years ago I ran across a fantastic "little black dress" at Goodwill and bought it thinking it was a 26....well...it was a 20. Big difference. I was never able to get it on and it went to the back of the closet.
Right after surgery I tried it on again - still way to tight, back into the closet. I forgot about it until this past Saturday. I was at my apartment (I am almost never there) doing some cleaning and starting to think about packing, and sorting out stuff to take to Goodwill (so I can give as well as receive)...I came across the dress and thought - hey, I just might be at the 20 mark......so on it went..and I missed it...I MISSED MY CHANCE TO WEAR THAT DANG DRESS as it was wayyyyy to big now.
Now I need to scrounge up some size 18 dresses...I think I may have some from highschool (in the 80's) around at my parents house somewhere.
Even scarier, I ordered my wedding dress in a size 20 thinking that was a wise estimate of where I will be on my wedding day...and I still have 2 months to go....better give my seamstress a heads up.
A WOW MOMENT, indeed!!! Congrats to getting into a size 16. Sorry to hear that you missed your skirt, though. I had a couple of dresses my MIL bought me several years ago to were to my class reunion. I didn't fit into any of them, but they were cute, so I didn't return any of them. I let me mom borrow them. I was trying on stuff out of mom's closet last month and told her to get out my dresses. They hung on me. They were both huge. I missed my opportunity to wear them, too. Sucked, but I was glad to not be in that size anymore.
WTG, Girl!!!
