Consignment shops and Goodwill sweetie. I actually bought something from the "other" side of the store last weekend. The NON-fat side. I have been so scared to even browse over there. You are definitely not alone. Aime

MERCY Felicia!! You need to add a warning at the top of these posts!!! I almost fell out of my chair...and of course, EVERYONE in the house wanted to know what was so funny. I just told them, you'll NEVER understand. However, I do. I'm afraid to buy anything new too. The ONE pair of pants I have bought, I actually bought too big. I had tried on several pair, found one that fit. Then, later in the store, I found another pair I liked better. So, I switched for the same size as the one I liked. They were a loose fit for the first week and now 3 weeks later I need new jeans again. Thank goodness I kept a LOT of clothes as I grew out of them. But, I'm down to the point now that when these get too big, I will HAVE to go buy new ones as the smallest size I have is a large. I desperately need new tops....but am dealing with wearing them huge and looking like maternity wear. Oh well.....somehow, someway, we will get thru this and will learn to LOVE to shop. Just don't know when that's going to be. But, I'm planning a trip to goodwill soon to see what they have in the next sizes down so I'll be ready when I need them. Good luck sweetie!! I know you'll work thru this dilemma too. You always find a way to get perspective on it. Susan

LOL...I guess everyone else has talked you into going shopping. I am not having the same problem. I can't STOP shopping!!! I love to get new clothes. I check out the sales racks every time go to Walmart or Target. I put my daughter down for a nap on Sunday and told Hubby I was going shopping for new bras and would be back later. I came home around 7pm. I went to Fashion Bug and tried on a few shirts and got 4 new shirts for $16!!! Gotta love those sales. I didn't find my bra's, though. Then I went to Walmart and tried on some clothes. Didn't get anything there, but liked a few things. Nothing nice was on the sale rack and I didn't want to pay full price yet. I have 3 pr of size 16 jeans and I had to tell myself "YOU DON'T NEED MORE THAN THREE PAIRS OF JEANS!!" How tall are you? I am 5'7" and when I had my surgery, I was 282 lbs and wore a size 26/28 jeans at Fashion Bug. I have several size 26/28 tops and 30/32's, too. I don't have many 26/28 jeans, but do have a few 24's and 22's. I also have some sweaters in 3X or 26/28. I'm ready to get rid of them. Hope you can get over your fear of shopping and start to enjoy it. Hugs, Tabby
