OT: Taking son to doctor again.
Well, the saga continues with my #2 son.
His asthma is still out of control.
It's a little bit better, but he's by no means well.
Last night he had some episodes of shortness of breath.
Nothing alarming enough to necessitate going to the ER, but bad enough for me to contact the office this morning and ask to be seen.
Fortunately, they had a cancellation and are seeing him this afternoon.
He's on the max dosage of pretty much all the meds he can do at home.
We've been following the doctor's orders to the letter.
He started improving Friday and then Saturday relapsed again - with me STILL doing all the treatments, steroids, antibiotics, and other meds. Today he's still wheezing and complaining that his left lung is really tight. He hasn't had any shortness of breath this morning, thankfully....but ......he's still sick. STILL! It's been since New Years! He hasn't gotten well this entire time.
He's already been hospitalized once and they let him go home after 24 hours - which was a mistake IMO because within 48 hours he was sick again and has gone downhill ever since.
I'm tired, worried and frustrated.
We are taking a bag with us to the appt today just in case he does get admitted. I'm actually HOPING he will. Maybe they can use the IV steroids and whatever other magical stuff they have at the hospital to get him better. He's got to be able to breathe...and he needs to be able to go back to school eventually.
Well...it's almost time to go.
Pray for us!
Susan
Thanks Felicia.
I'm hoping they will have/do something today that will help him get well.
This has gone on for WAY too long....
What's bad is, they are starting to say that too....
I wish the doc had just put him in the hospital last week. Maybe by now he'd be better. Oh well....
We'll see what happens today.
If you don't hear from me by tonight, you can assume he's in the hospital. We don't have a laptop, so I'll be without access until we're back home again...

OH SUSAN, HONEY, I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOUR BABY HAS STILL NOT GOTTEN ANY BETTER.
I REMEMBER FROM YOUR LAST POST ABOUT YOUR SON THAT HE SEES A PULMONOLOGIST. HOPEFULLY HE'LL BE ABLE TO RELEAVE SOME OF YOUR SON'S LUNG SPASM. IT'S SUCH A SCARY THING FOR A CHILD AND HIS PARENTS TO GO THROUGH THIS. ASTHMA IS SUCH A TERRIBLE THING TO HAVE.
MY BIGEST CONCERN IS W/ HIM SAYING THAT HIS RT. LUNG HURT. I KNOW FROM PAST EXPERIENCED EVERY TIME MY LUNG "HURT" I ENDED UP W/ PNEUMONIA. HOPEFULLY THIS WON'T BE THE CASE W/ YOUR SON.
I AGREE W/ YOU, I ALSO HOPE THEY ADMIT HIM TO THE HOSP,THIS WAY THEY CAN GET HIM ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY AND RELEASING SOME OF THAT PRESSURE HE'S FEELING.
PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF, RELAX AND REST AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. YOU WON'T DO YOUR SON ANY GOOD IF YOU GET RUN DOWN AND GET SICK.
YOUR BABY, YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY ARE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.
KEEP US UPDATED ON HIS PROGRESS.
