Weird WOW moment today

I have heard, rather read, about people that couldn't see the difference in their weight loss when they looked in the mirror. I HAVE seen a difference the whole time that I have been losing. I can tell my face is thinner, my butt is flatter, my stomach is flatter, my arms and legs are smaller. I've always wondered "How can people NOT see a difference?" Today I went clothes shopping. I have done it several times since I began this weight loss journey. I took several shirts into the dressing room at Fashion Bug and when I tried on the first one and looked in the mirror I thought "Why do they have to make these mirrors so they distort your body to make things look better on you? This mirror makes me look thinner than I am." I tried on all of the shirts and liked the way I looked in all of them. They were all 18/20's and they fit me good. After leaving there, I went to Walmart and got a few things to try on and when I went into their dressing room, the same thing happened. The mirrors in the dressing room made me look smaller than I am. Then it hit me...NO, dumbass...you are smaller than you think. I have been in these dressing rooms before and NOTHING has looked good on me and the mirrors weren't distorted. Why would I think they were today. It was a weird observation, but kind of neat.

LMFAO @ Dumbass....I'm right there with ya. I haven't shopped at Wal-mart in over 15 years because they didn't have my sizes. I went last week and bought a pair of pants without trying them on. lol they are too big It truly is amazing what we have chosen to do.

Great WOW moment Tabby! I've done the same thing! When I go to try on clothes, I am still grabbing larger sizes and then I am amazed when they are too big! Holly

Tabby!! You're moment made me smile this morning. What a great moment...to realize YOU looked that good and the "funhouse" mirrors had nothing to do with it!! Glad you were able to do some wonderful shopping!! Susan

*holds hand up* I am one of those that doesn't see mush a difference in the mirror. I do when I look at photos but not when I look in the mirror. Maybe when I am down around your size that will be different. Great story thanks for sharing!!! *huggles* Felicia =0)

That is an awesome moment. I have to agree with Felicia I am one of those that has not seen much of a difference in the mirror. I did just the other day for the first time. Hubby tells me and i can see in the pictures but in the mirror is a rarety for me. I can see it is the smaller clothes I have had to buy but that is about it. I am sooooo happy for you! That is awesome!!! Keep up the awesome work! Hugs, Melissa

HEY TABBY, WHAT A GREAT STORY. HOW BRAVE OF YOU TO GO INTO THE DRESSING ROOMS. I HAVEN'T BEEN IN ONE FOR ABOUT 8 -10 yrs. SO I'D PROBABLELY HAVE TO ASKE DIRCECTIONS. I USUALLY TAKE THE CLOTHES HOME, TRY THEM ON AND THEN GO BACK IF THEY DIDN'T FIT OR I DIDN'T LIKE HOW THEY LOOKED. I KNOW, I KNOW THAT'S A WASTE OF TIME BUT I'M GETTING OLD AND DON'T WANT TO GIVE MYSELF A HEARD ATTACK BY LOOKING IN THOSE MIRRORS. HONEY, YOU'RE NOT A DUMBASS, JUST AND INCREDIBLE SHRINKING WOMAN LIKE THE REST OF US. KEEP UP THE GOOD, NO GREAT WORK. DONNA, SFY
